Young Arena — Local services in Waterloo

Older facility and not very big but nice and clean. Great view from any seat or you can stand around the top and watch.

BIG PROBLEM...all the stadium seats are VERY NARROW and they have STEEL sides...so if you're average size or bigger....you WON'T FIT!

My daughter and I are bigger than average but not fat and we didn't fit. We had front row seats and had to sit on the edge and tried to scoot back in...next morning we both had black bruises on our hips. Over 2/3of the people there stood around the top and watched...now I know why.

For what it’s worth the Waterloo Blackhawks usually have a fun team to watch. Young Arena is a decent place to watch some good hockey. Good sight lines for the most part. Besides good hockey and decent sight lines I don’t need much. The concessions are nothing noteworthy and prices are up there just like everything else. The crowd is a good mix of all walks of life as well as many die hards and their cowbells and their teenagers with cowbells and their new borns with cowbells…… Ps…..public skating and walking are offered during the crummy months...

The Sports Arena, was fine, but parking was a nightmare. We were there today for our grandson's wrestling tournament, and it took us 20 minutes to park, we tried 3 lots, and then had to drive 6 blocks downtown to find a parking garage. Between, finally finding parking, and then walking the 1/2 mile back in the cold, we nearly missed his match. I hope they put up a parking ramp, if they expect people to come to this arena. I won't be going there again. ...
