The few places I've visited are ok, but there are not enough different types of places to eat. The old buildings give downtown Waterville a nice charm.
But then there's Main Street, the road. It's a typical pavement disaster. The city hasn't maintained it. Ruts and divots start by Post Office Square and literally don't stop.
The parking configuration is not good. Parallel on the left, angled on the right. Main Street just isn't wide enough for parking on each side. It's difficult to see if anyone is waiting to walk across the street at the crosswalk until you're right at the crosswalk.
