As a Texan… tacos are serious business and the options are endless. Throw a rock in any direction and you’re sure to hit a taco truck or some overpriced brick and mortar selling something resembling a taco. I’ve passed this place many times and finally stopped to try it. It’s lunch time and there is a line of people waiting to go inside. It’s a very hot day so my hopes were set very high. They were quickly subdued once I started making my order. Wanting to skip waiting outside in the heat I went to the drive through. I was greeted by the most cynical person that couldn’t get one thing right and the things she was saying sounded nothing like what I was saying. I had to repeat myself three times and she still got it wrong. When I got to the window she just shoved a card reader in my face and then just handed it to me. She was very unpleasant and rude. My order was wrong but I wasn’t about to go through that with her because I just wanted to go at this point. I got two brisket tacos and they were not good. This is really hard to mess up. Even the worst taco is still a taco but this was unbelievably bad. If you have issues with salt then stay far away from this place. Not just because of the salt but stay away in general. This does not fit into the worst taco is still a taco. How can you screw this up so bad yet have a line out the door? Places like this and Torchy’s are evidence that most people don’t really know what is good. They just follow trends and whatever the masses are doing. Important to remember but not always the case… popularity does not always mean quality. More times than not… popularity is a sign that something is geared towards a specific market but I can’t figure out what market they were aiming for. I would not recommend or visit again. There are too many other options that are far better and they are happy to serve anyone because they know it can all disappear like this place will once people find their new spot that everyone else...
Read moreI keep thinking Taco Stand will get better, but today was the last day. We waited a couple of minutes to order, nothing significant. But then we didn't move for 12 minutes at which point the SUV in front of us who had already ordered left. We waited another 5 minutes and then called the restaurant. After several rings a male voice answered. When I asked for the manager he said, "I'll be your manager today." First of all, someone with any management training would not speak to a customer that way. So I asked, "Are you a Manger or are you playing like you're a manager?" His next response was "Anyone who answers the phone is a manager. So I can be your manager." All I can say is WOW. If this is how their managers act, I can't even imagine the rest of the culture at this establishment.
After 7 more minutes we finally reached the window. After receiving our food from the very nice girl at the window we parked to eat. Just like many other reviews, the meat was greasy, oily, and filled with fat and gristle. There was so much fat and oil it spilled everywhere and the tortilla was inedible. The potato and egg taco was mostly potato and very little egg and no flavor. I would have gone inside to return the food but after the first experience with management here I chose not to.
As we sat in the parking lot, we noticed a group of service men eating. I am so sad that this is the food that these men were fed. They work hard to serve our country. Most often they eat in the mess hall. A lunch out is a luxury. They deserve better than what this...

I couldn't WAIT for this place to open!
Now I wish it never had.
The person who takes the orders at the drive up window also takes orders for people that walk up. I gave the employee my order and then I heard him talking to somebody else and saying here's your change. Then he comes back to me and he says, what would you like to order.
All I wanted was a bean and cheese burrito with Pico de gallo, chips and salsa and a Mexican Coke.
For some reason this sounded like a bacon and egg burrito. I repeated my order Three more times and then it was finally received.
Pull up to pay. You're greeted by a nice person who verifies your order. When you go to pay, you are forced to tip. If you're sitting on the patio you walk up to the window order your food and go sit back down. Why would I tip if I'm doing all the legwork?
Received my food and got a cheese taco with pico de gallo, no beans.
We all know living in Texas that if you have bad salsa you're not going to survive. The salsa is very thin, has a little bit of a kick but not too bad. The chips are very good. They're thick and that's the only reason why I gave two stars, because of the chips.
I will try this again, but I do not have high hopes about it.... They have only been open 8 days so hopefully this is just a small crack...
