I hate I even have to say this, as I've been coming to this establishment for years faithfully. Even before they changed locations and have always loved their philosophy of helping the community and families who are struggling. It was one of the only thrift stores I didn't mind paying a little extra for because I believed they gave back to those in need.
However, today was the last straw. My husband has always expressed his discomfort that the ladies that work there never seem to be happy to see anyone and give off weird vibes to their customers. Even to the point of huffing and puffing loudly so everyone hears that something was misplaced somewhere on a rack. I would defend them and keep coming back.
But honestly, I'm heart broken to say that I agree with him now. I was treated like an inconvenience by a woman who before was always super nice to me. I get we all have off days, but the coldness and readiness in which she wanted to prove me wrong on an honest mistake over a sign I misread... Had me feeling uncomfortably sad as someone who has immense difficulty defending herself.
I understand that there are no negotiations in prices. I was even appreciative of a raffle discount event they were having, even though she was cold to me then too when I genuinely asked what was going on and how it worked. But when I expressed how I thought all of the collectible dolls were 50% off, she could not even hide her annoyance with me and went to prove me wrong in such a cold, condescending way, I felt like she found pleasure in proving me wrong. She definitely proved her point by shoving her phone in my face to show me a picture of the sign I genuinely, mistakenly misread in excitement. I wasn't causing a fuss about it, I was actually inwardly shocked it said anything differently than I how I read it. There was no conflict to be had about it.
All in all, I've defended this establishment enough and should've believed my husband when he said it seems the workers are genuinely unhappy to be there or to interact with anyone. It's no longer a comfort spot for me. No longer a place I go to and browse as a self care treat.
I wish everyone well. Truthfully. I hope they continue their charity work for others, but hopefully with more compassion than what they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor the last 3 years i have been a bi- weekly customer. i spend over 100 in cash every month! i donate my change to the store during my purchases! i noticed that majority of my receipts did not match the price on the goods.Iits been 1.00 here 3.00 there all the way to 6.00. 6 months ago I made a purchase of 5 articles of clothing that did not fit my daughter. I ask for a even exchange! No cash back! Did they offer to make it right? NO! ALL SALES ARE FINAL! I gave them the clothes back as a donation! Today was the LAST TIME THEY WILL TAKE MY MONEY! I purchased almost 50.00 in goods Friday Labor Day weekend. Thats pricey considering all my clothing was red tagged at 75% off! 25% off was my purchase price!!! I went back to the store to get resolution on the overages I was CHARGED! A total inconvenience I might add! According to her, manager, my red tags didn't match 2 articles of clothing! Clearly tags from their store, I removed them before I realized I got charged 50% more!. and She REFUSED to compensate me for their mistakes! I felt completely disrespected and robbed over used and DONATED clothing! All I got was ALL SALES ARE FINAL! BEWARE THEY CAN CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WANT AND GETAWAY WITH IT!!! Its not a bargain at all! I again donated all the clothing back to them and spent 33.00 more while expecting a refund! WATCH...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have found some great items here, but they need to be more specific with the prices! It has also been two times we have been treated rudely when we checked out! Being Christian based you would think they would have more friendlier staff and better prices! I purchased a small backpack for my daughter it had no price on it! There is a sign in front that states if there is no price there will be no sale! My daughter really wanted it so when the rude lady in front rang me out I had purchased lots of other items priced 75 cents to 1dollar, when the total was given my receipt was at 21 dollars. When we got to the car I started going over everything and noticed a $10 charge for arts and crafts which I didnāt even purchase! I went back in to ask the cashier what that charge was for and she responded it was for my daughterās backpack! I asked her why it said arts and crafts and why she didnāt tell me the price of it like she did everything else! She said back rudely that the prices on all the backpacks were $10! So I told her can you please show me where it says that!!!! She responded with Iām sorry⦠but thatās the price so she obviously charged me more on purpose like Iām reading in other reviews! Horrible place will...
