Have been here twice and both times I’ve had bad experiences. The place is full of hustlers and the dealers are clearly in on the action. I played poker in other places so this isn’t my first time playing and I’ve been playing for years. The first thing that got me is that they don’t make new people here feel welcome at all. Staff is somewhat appearance biased in my opinion. Made me feel like I wasn’t welcomed. They bug you multiple times to pay to play there breaking your concentration despite having payed at the door to get in beforehand. But I’m pretty sure that the regulars there are cheating with the house. Watched a few people play both times there and it clearly looked like the regulars had a hustle going on with the dealers. Certain players would be dealt winning hands 80-90% of the hands. Particularly the ones who are “my brother from another mother” with the dealers. The dealers also miscount how much people put into a pot. Half the time I called the dealer would always make me out twice what the call was for despite clearly having called properly. Do they teach their dealers basic math? I don’t think so. My suspicions were further confirmed of cheating and hustles with certain dealers and players because I would get a really good hand and a couple of guys would always somehow every time have a hand that was just better than mine. I’m talking events that don’t happen twice things. I clearly smell something fishy here. The last thing that grinds my gears is that every other hand at a Texas Hold’em table they switch games for some reason. Every random hand is Omaha. I think if I wanted to play Omaha I would have sat down at an Omaha table. Have never seen this in any casino I have been so I don’t know what this place is playing at. Safe to say I will not be returning for...
Read moreMy 1st time playing at Spades yesterday (Saturday). I mainly played house games and online. Never a casino or club.
Spades is legit! I was nervous goin alone for the first time. Overall, I had a great experience. This club seemed to be well run. All the staff seemed very professional, attentive and on top of running everything smoothly.
Great mix of good and “fun” players, diverse crowd, everyone I played with/around was friendly enough.
The tables’ spacing is not really that tight. There is enough space at/around each table, You just gotta look / follow the obvious wider pathways
The bathroom isn’t huge like another reviewer mentioned, but it’s also not a big deal. I had to use the bathroom 3-4 times and have no complaints. (I was there mainly for the action, not bathroom breaks).
The food looked and smelt great (a guy next to me scarfed down sliders and fries), free drinks 🤙🏻 and waitresses were pretty efficient.
I did have some luck and win (a little) yesterday, but I do wonder how my review would have been if I lost 🤔😅
Thanks Spades for an great...
Read moreI like this poker room a lot right when I walked in. They charge by the hour which is normally $5 or $10 and there is no rake from the tables. The dealers do a great job, they pay attention and they are very knowledgeable about a variety of games. Everyone that works there seems to like their job and are very enthusiastic about making you feel comfortable. They have quite a few poker tournaments which are free roles and the food is pretty good and fairly priced. I got the sliders and the chicken fingers and they were certainly cooked fresh and the vegetables were fresh and the french fries were delicious with some really good seasoning. The poker action was fantastic and everybody seemed to be having a great time. You are allowed to bring your own liquor because they do not have a liquor license which is nice. I didn't notice anybody being loud or obnoxious and I would not expect to see that in this establishment. I would recommend visiting this card room if you enjoy...
