The best alternative to get in to Manhattan. If you don’t want to drive, take an Uber, bus or subway. This is the way to go.
Expensive, however, you get a very punctual service (boats are no more than 30 seconds late - if that, and leave on the dot) make sure you download the mobile app to check schedules, buy tickets etc. Makes life much easier.
Boats are clean and safe. Also, The best view of the city in my opinion. Boats are fast, and did I already say punctual.

My only complaint is that the bathrooms often dont have toilet paper or paper towells (moreso on the NY side).
