We experience the uttermost humiliating treatment, from this business staff yesterday afternoon. We are a new non-profit organization for youth, dependent of local resident donations to maintain in operation. We called multiple business and opted to make business with Record Head; however prior to driving 1 hr. we provided a detail description over the phone on what we were looking to sell and asked if we could do anything else to have a good understanding of the merchandise. I was transferred to the " person in electronics that could make a decision" and was assured he was interested, and would pay us a fair price...specially That we had to drive 1 hr. and it was for a non-profit. After arriving at this facility we encounter 4 staff member arguing amongst each other on what was needed and not, using unfit foul language, and very unfriendly towards us. I explained that one of the staff member over the phone, had assure me to make it worth our time, and once again that we are dependent on donations for funding of our youth program. One of the staff began to tell me how our new merchandise was of no value, and had a vendor that would provide him with the same product at $0.10, for merchandise at retail value of $10.00 to 50.00. I assure him I was not a guru when it came to computer technology, but had already researched our merchandise, and only a direct buyer to china at mass quantity could obtain a price as low as $0.10. He said to my face I had no idea of what I was talking about, and plain and simple did not care if I walked out. I asked to have the store manager talk to me over the phone, since he was not available to explained the circumstances. I inform him we genuinely were a non profit, with a donation and not stolen merchandise. The he was welcome to look up my credentials on line, and verify my DL or business card. After our 5 min. Conversation, I hand the phone back to the insolent staff agent. He answers the phone by stating "do you want me to verify the non-profit?" I known all along by the behavior, that they assumed I was giving them a fake story. ( I HAVE A PSYCHOLOGY BACKGROUND FOR 15 YRS.) I was written a check for a humiliating amount, but accepted the amount since we had already wasted 3 hrs of our day, and a 1 hr. Drive. These people assume for one reason or another we had came in with stolen or unlawful merchandise, and was not given the benefit of the doubt to even ask me for a business card or ask to look us up on line. Before leaving, I provided the business not only our non-profit information, but our business information as well. I advised him that despite his judgment for ether being female, Hispanic, gay, or not dressed in a suit..... I was the founder of the organization, and worked hand in hand with our town circuit court and Judge!!! Its a shame to be balked by peoples assumptions and bias, and I have no words to describe the bullying of 4 male staff members. I hope the store manager takes the time to read this, and learn that this business staff are out of place on how customers...
Read moreThis is a real record store. You can ask the staff about the bands on their t-shirts and they can actually tell you about them lol.
I've only been once but I saw absolutely no bias towards any kind of genres or mediums/formats, they had of course the good ol' dollar bins, they had used records (which aside from the people is what really gives a record shop character, especially nowadays that you can't smoke indoors lol) but the used records aren't gonna ruin your shirt, they aren't dirty. They have brand-new recently released vinyl & CDs, they also have brand new copies of classics from Thriller/Off The Wall, to NWA/EPMD/KRS One/ATCQ/Eric B. & Rakim, to Guns'N'Roses, to Jimi Hendrix Live, they have Bob Marley records, Johnny Cash, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, The Commodores, they even had the CD of the GTA San Andreas Official Soundtrack which if someone doesn't pick up I'm going back to get myself lol.
From everything that I checked out the prices go from 'a steal' & only go up to the reasonable price you'd expect to pay for a brand new record or whatever be the case. Not just a record shop though, they have a wide, unbiased collection NEW VINYL, OLD VINYL, CDs, RECORD PLAYERS, & then as you might expect they also have BAND SHIRTS & other MUSIC T-SHIRTS (for a good price as well), but they also have VIDEO GAMES, HOME SPEAKER SYSTEMS, PA/VENUE MONITORS, GUITARS, DRUMS, & I saw some other little instruments like some KEYBOARDS (it's not a full-blown instrument/music equipment store but they do have a good section of the store dedicated to gtrs/drums/speakers/etc. & someone was actually playing guitar, but like a decent human being, not like the guys you find in guitar center lol).
I passed by & said "Oh wow, a real record shop??" & I went in just to check it out but you know how that goes; Of course I got to looking & they had my Gang Starr OOTBY so I had to do it lol.
If you want to shop at or check out a record store anywhere in Milwaukee County, I can't say I've seen them all but I've seen most of them & this is the place I'm gonna call my music store from now on. I believe they also advertise on the exterior of the building that they buy records as well but I don't know the full deal with that. Oh & the place has good AC too which was great today lol its spacious & clean & yeah what can I say its a real record shop, you wanna hangout in there.
P.S. Thank you very much to the woman in the Chili Peppers shirt, she made me feel right at home lol & I didn't get a chance to exchange names but I will absolutely be back & be bringing my friends with me. Thankyou.

Read moreTL;DR -- Terrible customer service / gave my property back to me in worse shape and damaged.
The customer service is pretty terrible. I brought my turntable in to be serviced, was initially turned away because the technician felt it worked fine. I asked him to do a diagnostic test and cleaning anyway.
Almost three weeks later he left me a voicemail stating my item was beyond repair with very little context. It seemed parts related, but that was all the information that was shared. When I called back to speak with him on the phone it took three attempts to get him to speak with me, he was rude, told me he didn't have the time to talk to me, but also couldn't tell me what was actually wrong with my turntable. His words verbatim were "i don't know what's wrong with it. I don't have time for this, i'm building crates."
When I picked up my item I was given a bag of loose screws with a random pieces of grey plastic included. When I got home I also realized the arm on my turntable no longer works. Whatever the tech did, he broke the mechanism that makes the arm go up and down.
I don't think this is the right spot if you are looking to have any of your hardware serviced. The tech does not have the skill set and you risk getting your property damaged. I'm now left with a bag of loose screws, a broken arm, and no clear understanding of what was actually wrong with my turntable to begin with.
When I followed up the manager/owner felt more concerned with advocating for his employee's poor customer service. As far as he was concerned, there was no problem.
You can't make everyone happy, and no business is perfect, but you can at least do the bare minimum which I was not afforded. It would also be great if you didn't damage your customer's property while you're at it.
If you're smart, take your business to Audio Shop in Racine. Or make the trip down to Chicago. Support small businesses, but maybe not this one.
And yes, I created an account, just to write this review to warn people about the...
