Panda Hut Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in West Allis

Sigh… This is the first review I’ve ever written, but the food was so bad that I feel compelled to speak on my experience. My family and I were in the mood for authentic Chinese cuisine, and we chose this place through DoorDash because it was close to home. Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment.

We ordered several different items, all of which (should’ve) had different flavors. The General Tso’s chicken was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before, and not in a good way. The chicken was extremely hard when it should have been tender after being simmered in the marinade. Every bite was tough, as if they had fried it until it was rock solid and then just dumped sauce over it right before pickup. The broccoli garnish with the rice was also undercooked and not tender at all, we could’ve dipped it in ranch and ate it as raw broccoli. Needless to say It just didn’t taste like General Tso’s chicken, nor did it have any spice like I’ve had from other restaurants.

The sesame chicken was no better. It had the same hard texture as the General Tso’s chicken, with the only difference being the sesame seeds sprinkled on top- The sauce that was used on the General Tso’s chicken was the same sauce that was used for the sesame. The egg rolls tasted stale, as they are pre-rolled, sitting in a cooler for days before being fried to order (I seen this upon pickup) and we could tell immediately after we bit into them. The veggie fried rice was just as bad—hard, with undercooked, crunchy vegetables.

Lastly, the boneless shredded rib bowl was nothing like what was advertised. It looked tender and well-sauced in the pictures, but what we received was dry, tough, and completely lacking sauce. This meal literally made my stomach hurt. My husband, who works third shift, took a few bites and ultimately decided to leave early so he could stop somewhere else for food on the way to work.

We are beyond disappointed, and I will be disputing the charges with my bank. After reading other reviews, I see that this place is definitely hit or miss—I just wish I had read them before placing my order. I have ordered from here for YEARSSSS.. and have always absolutely loved their food.. today we try something new-chicken chop suey.. well, there was almost No chicken.. all veggie and not tasty. Ordered shrimp mei fun- our absolute fav, but today It was off, like the veggies tasted like they’d been refrigerated too long or something- it was not good. So for the first time ever, I called.. they told me I wasn’t telling the truth that there Was chicken because she saw it. I gave my toddler 1 piece the biggest one , and my eldest maybe 3 fairly small, myself only two. There was no more chicken just small bits. I will say I am disappointed in how she reacted and how nothing was offered except me taking the food back. I got delivery. I have been going here since my mother took me at young age- never a bad memory. I have spent hundreds on dollars here over the years-orders never less than $20 as much as almost 50. My family and I order from here once or more in awhile but today I wasn't very happy with there service today the waiting time wasn't acceptable I ordered some food over the phone and was told 15 mins for my food to be ready for pick up I came after the 15 mins my order wasn't ready so I sat in there waiting area took 10 mins more to receive my order while I saw two costumers after I arrived they received there order which I accept there orders were less food then mine but I should've been told about 25 mins so I wouldn't have to wait longer in the waiting area.
