This place lacks organization. When you make your appointment online, they don't say you need other documents in order to get your passport. Then, after getting your appointment that you need to wait 6+ months and at a certain time. Then, you come to this place, there's a very long waiting line, no air conditioning, not too clean and the employees get frustrated for all the people standing all over the place. Is it a shame Hondurans have to suffer these inhumane conditions just to get a passport or ID. It doesn't matter how long anyone from any nationality have been here in the USA they should be treated with dignity, and more that these is not a free process, they have to pay for everything. It's a shame.
01/04/2024 After almost 1 year, here we are, picking up the DNI...yes, almost 1 yr waiting to get it. On the website and on Facebook, it says that you don't need an appointment. Just come and pick it up. I thought: "Because it is a new office, it would be slightly easier this time." If you are willing to spend 4hr in a line just so they look you up in 2 min on the computer and then make you wait until they call you...yes, this is what you'll go through. Is the SAME situation of last year, just in a different...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience. Do not waste your time here. First, there’s nowhere to park. Second, the service is horrendous, and the staff over the phone are incredibly rude. We drove over 8 hours to make it to an appointment that was booked well in advance, only to have it canceled last minute due to “technical issues.”
To make matters worse, others who were there were also furious—some had driven even farther and were left waiting in the cold for hours. Getting an appointment here is already a nightmare since they’re always booked, and when they cancel, the rescheduling process is just as bad. They offered to reschedule canceled appointments a week later, but that didn’t work for us due to prior commitments. Apparently, the staff then decided to take the 21st to 31st off, leaving countless people without help after already ruining their plans.
The lack of communication and disregard for customers is unacceptable. I genuinely don’t understand how they’re still allowed to operate under these conditions. Avoid this place at all costs. I don’t understand how the government...
Read moreI would like to give -5 stars to the poor attention that the Honduran Consulate in Chicago gives. It is a waste of money of all taxpayers and people that send monthly remittances to their relatives in Honduras. The Honduran government should invest in servicing their citizens in a better and expedite way. I have been trying to get an appointment since the May, 2023 to this point without success. Honestly if your website has no appointments, you should put a message stating where the next window enrollment will take place, so people should be ready to go to the website and enroll during that time windows for the next appointments. Also why in the world I need to get my DNI if I have an expired passport issue by the Honduran government. All Hondurans deserve respect from the government, so put your matters and order and provide a better service. I took the time to read most of the reviews and definitely it is a shame to be begging for the attention and respect...
