Highly recommend the entire team at Decibel Audio. Tucker and his team are extremely knowledgeable, honest and straight. They give their best opinion and recommendations on what equipment will best match your budget and expectations, without any' upsell' pressure. I was looking for a vinyl 'starter' setup for my daughter and came across the store not far from where we were staying while back home for the holidays. They had two options on packages of used equipment that both were excellent value for money. Tucker gave the pros and cons of both, and ok I went with the higher priced option, but only after Tucker had explained to me (but more importantly to my daughter) what the pros and cons meant in practical terms for my daughter, who is a stereo equipment newbie. They took the time to set up the system for a test listen, and left us to listen an play around with the system. And even though I purchased the higher priced package, it was not a huge sale (they had plenty of other new and used high end components) but they still had one of the staff help us carry the system the few blocks to our rented place so we did not have to make two trips. Whether you are a complete beginner, or a well seasoned user of audio equipment you can't go wrong with stopping by the store. You might be pleasantly surprised at the options of buying a used high end upgrade at a knock down price, and even if you do not make a purchase you likely will enjoy seeing some of the vintage and new gear they have in the store. They also have a very experienced technician on staff, so can offer great after sales service, and am guessing could be a resource if you are looking to repair any of your own equipment that might need...

In typical hipster fashion, I was in the market for a record player and didn't want to buy it from some box store like Urban Outfitters, so I walked over to DeciBel instead. I didn't know much (and still don't know much) about the best options/needs/requirements for setting up any sort of in home sound system. So glad I stumbled upon this place. Incredibly reasonable pricing on par with, and often beating, big box stores but with super knowledgeable and honest, transparent staff. As someone who was looking to graduate from the more "intro" gear that I had, these guys really helped me to understand where I was in my journey and why I wasn't where I wanted to be.
