on sunday night i had ones of the worst fast food experiences of my life in a taco bell store. I ordered from the app to pick up at the taco bell restaurant in lakeside chicago. upon arriving the outside of the store was crowded by people yelling and smoking and i had to squeeze my way through to access the entrance. walking inside i was shocked to see the floor of the store was soaking wet, with up to an inch or so of water in some places. there were multiple altercations happening; patrons were shouting, employees were shouting, and i was a bit afraid. i tried to move past a chair so i would not have to wade through water, and an apparent “security guard” told me not to move his chair. as i got to the front and tried to ask the cashier if my order was ready, they said they would be refunding me. an employee shouted from the back telling the cashier not to as they were already making the order. they were however out of the most crucial parts of the order. the employee would shout from the back, “no steak, sub?” which i feel i had no option but to say yes. “no chalupa, sub?” “no cinnabon, sub?” after about 20 minutes i had finally been handed my order, and i rushed out of the store to get away from the chaos, as tensions were continuing to build inside. when i got home and began unwrapping my food, i could not believe that almost every single item in my $30 order was wrong. my “cheesy steak chalupa” was just ground beef inside hard and soft shells. They seemingly substituted the cheese in the 5-layer burritos for lettuce(????) The cheezit tostadas had no beef and were very soggy. we did not recieve the soft taco supreme, chalupa supreme, double stack taco, or cinnabon delights, and instead received 3 plain soft tacos and cinnamon twists( that tasted like straight chemicals). that is surely my first and last time at that location, which is unfortunate as it is very close to where i live. will definitely be avoiding taco bell for a long time.

I want to start off this by saying that I LOVE taco bell. It has been a staple for my family since we were poor people growing up. You can easily sub beans in to make it vegetarian-friendly and honestly if your stomach can't handle the food then I feel bad for you sorry you're missing out. Now I don't come in here expecting a perfect order, especially in a location that also serves alcohol but I was pleasantly surprised when my entire order was doubled. Instead of 2 burritos, nachos, and a Mexican pizza, I received 4 burritos, 2 sets of nachos and 2 pizzas. I was truly as happy as can be. The staff are definetly overworked but I had always found them to be friendly and more than willing to fix any major errors they have made. I would also again like to point out that this location serves alcohol infused Baja blasts. My life is complete. Taco Bell as a whole is my go to night out spot, but this one is at the top of my list as an all-time favorite.

Cheap food, just as yummy. They do have beer, Dos Equis and another type on tap. Average fast food staff, most are not particularly happy looking. I have noticed that the tables here are sometimes dirty, and I've had to ask for my table to be cleaned before. Luckily I've never seen the bathroom in bad shape here, very well maintained. Cross your fingers that your visit here won't be during a busy time when the drunken Wicker Park crowd rushes in. Seats will be hard to find. The decor inside is pretty 'hip' with graffiti and some pretty cool looking lights, to match the vibe of the area.

Tl;DR mobile orders at this location are either disregarded or take upwards of an HOUR to receive. I do not recommend it here, and that’s coming from someone who has a very low standard for restaurants, sober or not.

I’m usually a very patient person having worked food industry myself. However, I’ve given this location 3 tries and every time service has gotten worse. I successfully place orders using the app, am told that the food is ready for pickup, but it clearly isn’t. Last night I placed a mobile order for 3 small dishes, the app said it was ready at 10:45. I came in, asked for my order, and was told “it was being made.” At 11:15, I started noticing that new customers walking in started receiving their orders, so I asked again. They said “It’s in the back of the screen” and gestured to the expo screen. I gave the benefit of the doubt until it was 11:30, and the staff began TO CLEAN THE STATION AND TABLES IN FRONT OF ME.

I asked again one more time, and they said “I don’t know… sometimes the mobile order doesn’t go through the system yet…” and sure, glitches happen. I get it. But seriously?

They ended up putting in my order and waiving it, but even then, they took their damn time screwing around on their phone.

I understand it’s taco bell and I shouldn’t expect much, and that it certainly gets busy sometimes. But this was absolutely unacceptable. I’d give 1.5 stars since one of the employees finally decided to give me some free fountain drinks....

Like other reviews below, my mobile order was never made. I went in and was told to be able to order a quesarito, i would need to do it on the app. I placed my app order at 8:31. At 8:45 when I noticed other people coming in after me getting their food, I double checked to see if they got it, they told me 2 orders were in front of mine. Which was a lie, because I came in with a group of friends who I ordered before and they got their food before me. also multiple people who came in after me got their food first.

at 9:01 after roughly a half hour, i asked again very calmly. The only reason i stayed was because my friends were still eating otherwise I would have left by now. The manager yelled and said we only got 2 people workin! and then mumbled more under his breath. I understand its covid and they are short staffed but there was also 3 other employees just standing around in the back.

Don't mobile order from here, they do not care. Waiting a half hour for 3 quesaritos is straight...
