Kitchen was such a great find for our ceremony and reception. I don't even remember how I came across them but I'm so glad I did. We chose Kitchen because they were BYOB, had no vendor restrictions, and had the look we wanted for comparatively cheap. But they ended up being one of our favorite vendors to work with. Everything was easy and no-nonsense. Nicole was always very prompt to reply to emails and Orlando always very helpful arranging meetings onsite (and coordinating the day of!). They were always very flexible, and we especially appreciated being able to drop items off a couple days before the wedding and pick remaining items up a couple days later. We even missed a few bottles of leftover alcohol and Nicole emailed us to let us know so we could pick them up a couple weeks later.
While the venue is a little "no-frills" and doesn't include much, it really has all the essentials. There is a bridal suite, pretty loft area, multiple bathrooms, an extra side room which we used for the photobooth, and a security guard. They also have several tables of varying sizes (that you can use for things like the bar, card table, etc.), a wooden altar piece, some easels/small decor items, and 150 chairs which was one less thing to rent. One of the best tangential benefits is that Kitchen has tons of full-service commercial kitchen space/equipment so you will save money on catering rentals!
In terms of space, we had a 95-person, full dinner reception with long tables and a dance floor. It was great for our size, but anything bigger (or with round tables) and I think it would start to feel cramped. We did do a room flip between the ceremony and reception which was not a problem at all and handled seamlessly by Kitchen and our other vendors (the loft helps with cocktail hour spillover).
In addition to all of the logistical positives, the venue is just beautiful and needs very little to look amazing. The super high ceilings, cool light fixtures, and brick walls really add a lot and make it look like an upscale industrial loft. We had a bunch of candles, some drapery, some string lights, and great flowers and that was...
Read moreI was looking at this location for my wedding reception. It had the space, the urban feel, and the friendly staff. However, the parking was not enough for more than a dozen cars. This means that the rest of our guests would have to park on the street, which, being from the suburbs, made me feel uneasy. When I went here, the cleaning staff was moping, and it still smelled strongly of food. Not just a little, but it was inescapable. If you plan on bringing your own food, hopefully it will smell like your food haha. But seriously, a great price for a nice diy urban...
Read moreI came here for a wedding on NYE. It's a really cool building with industrial styling, and a large industrial kitchen for shared use by anyone who wants to pay for time to use it. This makes it great for weddings and parties where you want to bring in your own cooking staff. There's a cool lofted area above the main room which is a nice feature for guests to wander into. Overall, had a...
