What is there to say. The VIP tour was fantastic. We booked for an 11:15 am tour. Valet parking was included which was easy and went great. The walk to the park and security was about 10-15 minutes then to the VIP clubhouse. They have water, breakfast snacks, juices. I would suggest making sure your at the VIP clubhouse 30 minutes before your tour to relax, enjoy the amenities, and freshen up before the tour. Its a full 6 hour day with your guide. Our guide was Mark P. The tell tale sign was that everyone in the park acknowledged Mark and said we were lucky to have him. We were. Mark was personable, knowledgeable of the Universal lot and history, and really kept our group involved & entertained the entire day. So thank you Mark. We did the rides in the lower part of the complex first. VIP allowed our group to go express to the front of the line on rides that had 45-120 minute waits. We had the opportunity to do all rides that were open that day. Our group had reserved seating at the Water World show. I have to be honest would not have thought about going but it was amazing. Great show. Well done. At 2pm, were taken to a VIP buffet lunch. Food was very good with too many options to mention. The restaurant had option to sit inside or out. Was clean, well maintained, and a friendly and courteous staff. Thank you.But now lets get to the important part. The best part of the park. The actual studio tram tour. We started at 3pm and we were off. Sound stages, offices, sets, some ride elements, and to boot you were able to get off the tram and walk the lot to the Back to the Future square, the NY city streets, The War of the World set and the western set(Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). Unbelievable. So much fun whether you enjoy movies or not. Our guide Mark was so knowledgeable on all of it. So much to see. Remember VIP's get off the tram and walk these lots. Such a memorable experience our family will never forget. To my fellow VIP's just a reminder, your tour guide is spending the entire day with you. Be generous if you're able at the end of the day as...
Read moreThis tour is the best way you can spend money at Universal Studios. We only had 1 day to spend there and decided to pay the extra so we could jump the queue. We were travelling from Australia and were only in the States for a couple of weeks so we wanted to experience as much as possible.
I didnât realise how many extras were included! We had breakfast when we arrived and then our amazing guide Kevin came to pick us up. This guy is a deadset legend! He LIVES and LOVES Universal. And that is exactly the type of person you want giving you a guided tour. Not only did he get us to the front of the line on every ride he knew absolutely everything about the Universal movies!!
Our 8 year old was a bit apprehensive about scary rides but Kevin looked after him and gave him advice about what rides to go on.
Now back to the inclusions, we then had a delicious buffet lunch which was included and then a âbehind the scenesâ tour of the actual production studio. I wasnât too excited about it when I saw it on the itinerary but I can honestly say that it was the best part of the tour! We were actually able to walk around the set when the general public were stuck on a âtrain likeâ cart that just drove past. If you love movies then this is a must for you. We literally got to stand where the lightning struck in Back to the Future!
I definitely recommend that you upgrade to the VIP tour. And can I also ask that you please tip your tour guide!!! We are from Australia where we donât normally tip but these people spend an entire day with you and the knowledge they impart makes the tour so much more special. I was surprised that the locals didnât actually tip like we did at the end of the tour. I know itâs expensive but these guys rely on tips to help make ends meet. And it is definitely worth it!
Thanks Kevin. If we make it back there we will definitely be asking...
