Had my motherboard fry over a weekend, ordered a new motherboard and processor; in the process or installing it certain components were not working and I could not figure it out. I called ACE he said he and his (brother) deal with alot of desktop builds and are really good at diagnosing problems; it was around 1 pm he said to bring it in and that they would have the problem diagnosed by the night. Well first night came they didn't get to it no deal, anticipating my new pc I proactively tried to fix the problem without the pc on my own and came up with some soloutions for the moring and left them a message.
The next day came and they still didnt even touch the pc yet how did I know? I called at 5pm offering more soloution's but they said its on the bench. On the third day they supposedly finally got to it but still did not have a solution or even diagnosis. Honestly at this point I knew I could of diagnosed the problem myself so I just told them the pc parts might not be compatible just to get it back from them because they simply were not doing anything.
When I went to get my PC he quickly disassembled my motherboard and processor to make it look as if work was done...which it obviously was not...AND THEN PROCEEDED TO CHARGE ME 60 DOLLARS AFTER I MADE ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DIAGNOSIS(without even having the computer for 3 days)..
I ended up finding out the problem! it was a simple issue with my power supply it was about a 10 minute fix and these guys dingle'd me around for about 3 days lied about work done and when it was to be done, and had the nerve to charge me for what they did.
I am sure people naive to computers are taken advantage of daily and I highly suggest you shop around, as these guys do not work whey they say they will...
Read moreI had a good experience with them in the past but then I recommended my friend to them and they proceeded to fry his brand new hard drive, replace it with one that didn’t even work and said it was ok. My friend took it back and then he just reset it and said it was fine again but obviously it wasn’t. So I bought him another hard drive (the one Ace broke in the first place) and had him take it to Best Buy, they fixed it within 2 days. Moral of the story this guy can handle basic jobs but does not have the experience to deal with an actual problem, I strongly recommend not wasting...
Read moreTim at Ace Computer Repair was very helpful. We got off to a rough start, but Tim was proactive in calling me and providing excellent customer service. When I first took my computer in, he didn't know what was wrong. It took a awhile, but Tim was determined and in the end he got my PC up and running beautifully. He also took the time to keep me updated on his progress, which was very reassuring. Not having my computer in the digital age was stressful. Tim did what he could to make the process of repairs my computer as stress-free...
