11/03/17: 4.5 out of 5 - We often visit La Sen for a good meal. Brought the in-laws in with the wife. Father-in-law's first time eating here. He enjoyed the food and ambiance as much as we did. The service and food was on point. Now he wants to return back with his friends to share the goodness of the food.
09/01/17: 4.0 out of 5 - Place was busy and a bit understaffed for a Friday. However, our food server was communicative with is going on.
I tried the Seafood Bird's Nest dish. It was okay. I've had others to compare it to. It needed more sauce to make it better and tastier.
Regardless, this place is still great to come to enjoy simply good food with friends and family.
08/02/17: 4.5 out of 5 - Came here today to get out of the heat of cooking at home. So I went with the Dac Biet - Sai Gon Combination with noodles (rice is an option). It was the first time I've had this dish considering the many times I've been here. It was very tasty and refreshingly hit the spot in on a hot day. Great service as usual and the place was nice and cool.
07/10/17: 4.5 out of 5 - This La Sen in West Linn provides it all; great service, cleanliness, and good food all at a very reasonable price. Although it's been awhile, I really do like and prefer this place for my Vietnamese fix.
01/15/17: 4.5 out of 5 - This was my third visit here, and my first review for this location.
One thing about this place is that it's actually closer for me and my wife for good Vietnamese. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The food is tasty and somewhat catered to American taste buds, but still tasty. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and tasteful decor. Kept quite clean with friendly, attentive staff.
I would definitely suggest trying out this place once and decide for yourself. I obviously plan to go...
Read moreLong time customer, have downgraded my rating from 5 stars to 3. Reasons: 1. Cleanliness, 2. Drop in food quality.
La Sen's menu has the typical favorites, plus a couple nice additions: crepes, vegetarian pho, sandwiches.
Atmosphere/decor/music is nice.
Staff is friendly, but as other comments mention, sometimes non-existent.
New problems include:
Tables and chairs are frequently dirty now, even when the restaurant is empty- staff sitting around.
Using old dirty wadded up napkins and soup lids under table legs to balance tables. Soiled walls. Restroom out of supplies multiple visits.
On visiting 2 days in row, I noticed the same debris on the restroom floor the second day(!)
Plate foods, soups, and drinks have become hit-or-miss with quality, serving size, and even ingredients/seasoning. Some ingredients out of stock/items unavailable.
New waitstaff unknowledgeable about ingredients ("tofu has no soy in it")
Friends have noticed the same issues.
Haven't seen the old location manager lately, since all of these problems are basic management issues with simple fixes, La Sen would probably do well to invest in location management.
La Sen has been a nice option in the past, but is providing disappointing experiences lately. we hope it doesn't go downhill from here. Will continue to visit, update...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at S Pho Restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting, with a cozy and authentic Vietnamese atmosphere that instantly transported me. The menu boasted a wide array of traditional Vietnamese dishes, and I opted for their signature pho. It was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with rich flavors and perfectly cooked noodles. The broth was aromatic and soul-warming, just like the pho I remember from my travels in Vietnam. But what truly stole the show for me was their Vietnamese coffee. It was served with meticulous care, and the aroma alone was enough to awaken my senses. The smoothness of the coffee paired beautifully with the condensed milk, creating a delightful balance of sweetness and boldness. The service at S Pho was impeccable, with attentive staff members who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. In conclusion, if you're craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine served with warmth and hospitality, look no further than S Pho Restaurant. I can't wait to return and indulge in their delicious...
