It was our first time visiting here and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, service, and location. Place was busy with people coming and going, quite a few were doing takeout. We stayed and the hostess sat us down. Located in West Linn, which is a very beautiful area of metro PDX, a very nice area to drive around and see beautiful houses nestled in the hills. We made it in time for the Happy Hour pricing from 2:00 to 5:00PM Monday thru Saturday. We brought the family here, sat in front of the belt and we all had a good time. It was a little crowded moving about to go the restroom, but very comfortable when seated. A great selection of different sushi choices, as expected from the conveyor belt type restaurant. We also special ordered several of the fried rolls for the wife who does not like the spicy mayo, and they turned out delicious. These special order rolls came with 3 or 4 pieces depending on which one you ordered. They had plenty of cream cheese, my wife's and my favorite. All of the food choices were excellent choices and all very tasty. Everyone enjoyed the sesame balls, edamame, rolls, hot tea, and Sushi. I don't know the name, but my favorite was the sushi roll with jalapeño topped, I love spicy food and this one hit the spot. Will visit again when in West Linn area.

The sushi was better than expected, more fresh compared to Kura on the east coast. But there was not much variety, mostly salmon and tuna, and imitation crab. I would guess special orders are possible, but no one offered so not sure how to do that. The tea was hot and good. Service was fast and efficient, atmosphere is hip and modern, small room so not great for big parties. We had 6, that’s max for a booth I would say. Overall nice experience, more variety in fish would be better! Flavor was ok, but not the best sushi of course compared to a formal Japanese restaurant. Update: we ordered takeout and the sushi quality was much better than the conveyor belt kind. Udon was pretty good too. Will try order take out or order at table next time!

I’m giving this 2 stars only because the sushi is decent. The service is absolutely horrendous and I’m somewhat surprised no one else has left this feedback. We have been frequenting this sushi spot for about 2 years and learned quickly not to go in to sit down. Each time we went in it was a 30+ minute wait to get anything requested for the train, and things requested were simple like avocado rolls. As we don’t enjoy sitting for over an hour for food that’s really not all that fantastic we started ordering ahead for take out. The staff will quote 20 minutes every single time. I don’t think it has ever been ready in 20 minutes. We’ve started timing it to be there 30 minutes after we order and in every instance we still wait another 10 minutes once we arrive. 40 minutes for 1 take-out box of sushi is nuts. The last trip we insisted after 40 minutes that they give us what was made so we could just leave and we ended up not receiving our full order.

The staff are also very cold towards customers. There are 2 folks on staff that are friendly and the rest ignore customers until they are forced to engage by the customer and they are almost always very curt.

This sushi is subpar at best and the service is hands down the worst I have experienced in the Portland area. If you don’t mind waiting upwards of 40 minutes for a small order and want cheap sushi, the quality isn’t bad but the wait times are excessive for the lower quality...

I live in Lake Oswego, where everything is way more expensive than it should be, so my family and I were delighted to find this place just a couple of minutes drive from our home. We love it there. After about the third visit, the waitress knew what we wanted for drinks, and when she sees us pull up we walk in to a table that is ready for us. The crew is nice, friendly and always meet you with a smile. It is fun for kids to grab the color coded plates as they come around on the conveyor belt.

A lot of "sushi" restaurants have Americanized their menu to appeal to the local pallet, but if you like traditional sushi, you will love Sushi Boat. The fish is always fresh, and the restaurant is clean. Check it out for yourself, and make sure to try their baked, stuffed teriyaki mushrooms. They are...
