I hope what I have to say will help before it's to late. Spectrum is a horrible company. Let me tell you why. I had twc for 2 yrs.I moved because of my job so I had my service moved to my new address. Two days later with out any warning they turned of my service. Why u ask. This is why.they said I owed a pass due balance from my old address well nobody told me that I owed anything (yet). So I had to pay a pass due of $125.wich is my normal bill. Not to bad Wright. Wrong.. they said I had to pay for a new install fee of $197.35..So yes I paid it even though I didn't think that they were being fair.So if you think that is the end...oh no it gets worse. They made a date and time to come out and install my new equipment. It two hrs to get it all hooked back up.Two days later they turned it off again. Why this time you ask. BECAUSE OF THE PERSON THAT LIVED here before me owed them money and it has to be paid before my service could be turned back on .They told me that I'm not responsible for that bill but it has to be paid before I can have service. I asked them how much this person owed...hoping not to much so that I could pay it. All I can say that there is no way I'm paying it. The lady told me that now matter where you move to if the person that lived there before you owes them money you can't have any service with them. The problem that I have with that is they don't tell you if there is a pass due owed to that address. so they will charge you for a instalation fee and your first month bill that you have to pay up front and as soon as they get your money they turn you off with no warning. I am going through he'll with these company. They are EXTREMELY RUDE. T W C WAS A WAY MORE BETTER COMPANY..I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON...
Read moreI have had nothing but problems with Time Warner (and now spectrum) since I moved here five years ago. Before, I had Cox cable and never had an issue my entire time using them, so starting off my standards were probably a little high . However, within the first month of using time warner I had to call four or five times for stupid issues that I should’ve been able to do online, like register a new box. The problems didn’t end there. Within the first six months my calls to then were well over and acceptable amount. My mom lives down the road and her issues are very similar. Since then I have dropped the cable, the home phone and now i only have the Internet service. I really thought spectrum taking over time warner would increase their services quality, but all it did was increased the prices. I am paying $95 a month now for Internet only and I have had to call several times to complain about dropped signal, no signal, I’ve had to change out my modem twice in the last six months- it’s just exasperating to say the least . I have to turn Wifi off a lot of the times just to get a page to load which is ridiculous, Especially at the price I’m paying. I’m heading over to the store now to get a third, newer modem. Why did it take me several phone calls and multiple online troubleshooting steps to finally find out I need another box? And the one I have is only six...
Read moreJust moved from a smaller town in this area of SETX into Orange and it's the same situation. No options that aren't ridiculously expensive except Spectrum and as expected they are terrible. Random internet spikes and lag all the time, they've come to my house multiple times just to tell me the problem is "not on their end" after scanning with their device in hand. I'm almost positive the device was rigged to say that regardless of what it came up with. We pay for 500 mb/s and I am currently running 50 mb/s on my gaming console that is 8 feet away from the modem while using wi-fi. The connection is so slow that I can't even play a video game. It's 2 am and everyone else in the house is asleep so there is no reason for it to be so slow. The phone number listed was no help at all as they just told me there was "no problems on their end" yet again. When this is the only company that won't charge you $200 + a month there isn't really another option for me or anyone else living on a tight budget. And as the internet era progresses, the necessity of it will only increase as time goes on. Which makes the random times that it's slow as hell (basically 1/20th of the speed we pay for) that much worse. These are the kind of companies you need to avoid if you can. They could not care less about your internet problems, they just...
