I moved to Wellington, Florida in the fall of 2021 when purchased my dream home. As I entered into a very stressful gut renovation, I realized that I needed a respite from the sawdust, paint fumes, and pounding hammers. I decided to research home furnishings stores in the area and discovered The Painted Ox on Instagram. After seeing some of their masterful work online, I decided to visit the showroom and, before you knew it, I was knee-deep in fabric samples and paint chips as I took advantage of Lili (owner) and her talented team's design expertise.

Over the course of the next year, The Painted Ox reupholstered and/or lacquered 25 pieces including:

10 Dining room chairs 4 Barstools 2 Living room chairs 2 Master bathroom mirror frames 1 Bed frame with headboard, footboard, and side rails 1 Bench 1 Console table 1 Headboard 1 Nightstand 1 Ottoman 1 Storage chest

They've also made several custom pillows for me, and I've purchased a number of decorative items from their showroom. In short, I know The Painted Ox really well!

Furnishing an entire home from scratch was a big undertaking, and I couldn't have done it without the help of Lili and her team. Aside from their products and services, I've consistently found the team to be friendly, easy to work with, and an overall fun group of collaborators.

A friend recommended The Painted Ox after I complimented her beautifully upholstered (some were also painted) furniture. I checked out the website and knew they would carry one of a kind pieces. I needed pillows so I traveled to their shop in Northwood Village in West Palm Beach. The area is filled with one of a kind and eclectic shops and restaurants (I ate lunch at the newly opened Grill Cheese Gallery and I ordered the Artisan White (Gouda, Swiss, Gruyère and cheddar on Artisan white bread. It was served with a cup of tomato soup - delish!).

The Painted Ox is so much fun to visit because it is filled with colorful furniture and accessories so you have to take your time. The owner, Lili, immediately introduced herself and suggested we check out the new furniture arrivals to see the “before” version before they re transformed. She also told us to visit the upstairs design studio which has books and books of fabrics and wallpaper. She does all her custom work in-house and the workshop is also upstairs. I worked with Sean to select four different fabrics for six pillows in my living room. He understood what I wanted and patiently opened book after book of fabrics. I placed the order no it was ready in two (?) weeks. I was thrilled with the end result and I highly recommend The Painted Ox.

I thought I found a great place. Small and had different stuff. Well it was that but getting insulted when I asked if a chandelier worked and was told they had water damage and they’ll try to fix it. So I went back and they only had 3 bulbs in the fixture. I asked if they had the other bulbs and we got different answers. The owner said it worked and asked my friend to stop checking the other sockets. When I looked at the price it was a hundred more dollars and I showed them the picture of the original price.
