You have one chance to make a first impression. My expectations were high, I tried the same dish at all the most popular Thai restaurants in the area. Obviously I saved this one for last since I was hoping it would be the best. Much to my disappointment it fell very short of my expectations. I ordered take out off the menu they had sitting at the bar. The pad see ewe is listed at $16 on their menu, already the most expensive out of all the Thai restaurants, except for the actual price is $17 once I got the bill. The lady taking my order apologized and said they have a lot of confusion over the prices on the menu... Go figure... I said ok, whatever, I'm expecting this to be mind blowingly delicious at this price.. I ordered two, one for me and one for my wife. We get to the hotel and start eating. The dish was 1/3 beef, 1/3 broccoli (mostly stems and leaves), and 1/3 rice mush, and the rest was egg and sauce. At this point I'm not going to go all the way back and wait for them to make it again... I forced myself to eat what I could, just some beef and eggs and threw away the rice mush ( were supposed to be wide rice noodles) and broccoli stems, which accounted for what seemed like more than half of what I ordered. My wife ended up picking through and ended up just throwing almost all of it away.
I cook and I've made rice noodles and judging by the appearance of the dish, it should have not been served. Maybe they were made earlier in the day and they didn't want to throw them out, regardless - the rice noodles are cheap enough to make fresh and you definitely charge enough for the plate to make me feel like I deserve at least that much.
I'm sure there are probably a lot of people that enjoy this place, but it just didn't work out for me; because of the price and execution of the dish I ordered, I will...

TLDR; IF YOU LIKE SEAFOOD GET THE YEN TA FO SOUP!!!
From the start, it was a great experience. The outside seating is like a fairy garden, complete with an outdoor pond and twinkling lights. The staff is very inviting and friendly. They also have really great recommendations.
Everything we ordered was made fresh and hot (so hot we had to wait to eat it!). The herbs and vegetables were of great quality and all the fish was too.
My companions ordered the beef pad Thai and the Miami heat roll. While both were great (I normally don't like pad Thai but I really enjoyed what I tried!), the entree that stole the show was, proudly, my own. The Yen Ta Fo (pictured) noodle soup. My god, it was phenomenal. It's definitely the best Thai dish I've ever had, and arguably one of my favorite dishes I've had out. The seafood and herbed fermented tofu broth was unlike anything I've ever had.
For real, I'm a foodie. I've been to Michelin star restaurants and plan my vacations around the release of the James beard award semi finalists. When i say this is one of the best things I've ever had, I'm not joking. It was bright, savory, zesty, and the perfect amount of spicy. I saved some of the vermicelli and broth for my partner at home to try, who had a visceral reaction to trying it. We were both really blown away by it.
It sucks because I don't think I'll ever be able to order anything else here, that's how hooked I am. It's just me and Yen Ta Fo for the foreseeable future. The high I got from devouring this fine specimen of culinary excellence is one that won't be easily matched.
Thank you Malakor Thai for the...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place after reading the reviews, but left disappointed. My husband and I ordered two appetizers, and they were good. I ordered the Pad kee mao with Shrimp (Drunken Noodles) and asked for medium spicy. The dish was supposed to come with flat noodles, bell peppers, onions, tomato, green beans and basil. Instead my order came with very little noodles, bell peppers, tomatoes, snow peas, asparagus, carrots, green beans and a side cabbage salad with orange slices for garnish. What is this? I felt like I had a mountain of vegetables for my meal. Not to mention, there was no spice at all in my dish. The dish itself is typically spicy, but they must have run out of spice because there was none. The only saving grace is that the meal had a nice flavor. If the meal had been prepared as it should have this review would have been a 5. Why bother creating a menu if the cook if going to add whatever they want anyway to the dish.
My husband ordered Cashew Nut Sauce. He's not a fan of vegetables and specifically asked for all vegetables to removed except for mushrooms. Like mine, his meal included veggies that weren't even listed as part of the meal, such as asparagus, snow peas and celery. He also asked for medium spicy and received no spice whatsoever.
The regular cool must be on vacation!
Not sure if we will go back as I'm not sure how to approach the wait staff ... I feel like I would have to preface my order by saying "please make sure the cook only includes what's on the menu for the dish unless I ask otherwise". Not sure how well that...
