Racism. Colored-People should avoid shopping here.
Today at 8 am I was in the meat section and again a White Employee came from afar pushing a giant cart and almost RAN ME OVER had I not gotten out of the way. Then he looked at me in a way expressing disgust. I was reading the label for a min or two and it was not like I just happened to collide with him.
This has happened before.
They will also put their Robot to follow you around for an excellent customer-service!
So at 8:05 am when I was checking out I shared that with the Cashier but he dismissed it as though he did not hear it.
That is when I reluctantly asked for the Manager which he ignored. I did not raise my voice. He was also a While Male.
I asked again and he said go to the Manager’s office and the Manager will not come out for you.
So I went to the Manager’s Office, the place where it says something along the lines “this place is monitored constantly…” on a closed door. I knocked and knocked but after 2-3 min of awkward waiting with shopping bag in my hand no one showed up.
Then I called the phone and pressed for Manager (option 0) but that also just kept me waiting. Not sure what was so important for the Manager to again ignore their Customer just like their Stop & Shop’s Team.
So I thought I will return the items I had purchased for this indignation and I would go to another Grocery Store. But the Return Counter was closed.
I have lived in Westborough for over a Decade now and this subtle-Racism is a trend at Stop & Shop.
Conclusion: even when a colored-person is polite and respectful, the Stop & Shop Employees will discriminate you in providing Customer Service or any interaction. They should learn from the Citizens Bank Employees and if I were to be a relationship-manager of Citizens Bank then I would consider moving out of Stop & Shop all-together to avoid association with such toxic culture. Let only White People shop there and not give Stop & Shop any business because we spend ~$400 every month feeding this monster. Time to call it quits, racists deserve...
Read moreI'm done with this store. This place used to be better than the one over on Otis St, but while the Otis store has improved recently, this one seems to be going downhill. They're clearly trying to boost their margin by cutting back on help, and it shows. I'll be going out of my way from now on to shop at Wegmans, Roche's, Hannaford's - anywhere but here.
For example: I'd stopped in at 6PM on a Saturday to pick up a dozen items, only to find long lines and only 2 registers open (neither of them express lanes). I went to the only working self-checkout near the service desk (the other was broken), and found that there were only a couple bags left. Then when I put my first item on the scale (bag of grapes), the register beeped and the "assistance needed" light started flashing. After a few minutes of waiting, it was clear that no assistance would be coming, so I dropped my basket at the desk and walked out.
On the same visit, I got to listen to two produce guys standing around talking while one of them had completely blocked off a section of aisle with his produce cart. I ended up moving his carriage out of the way while they continued talking.
At this same store, at one point, I had walked up to a completely empty deli counter, no other customers in sight, but the bored-looking attendant refused to acknowledge me because I hadn't pushed the button to take a ticket. When I asked if he was going to help me, he rolled his eyes and said something like "you need to take a ticket". No, I really don't.
It's just not worth the hassle of dealing with Lyman traffic to come...
Read moreFLORIST REVIEW: My reviews are based on handicapped accessibility, but I must make one exception. I believe her name was Lisa, I might be mistaken,it was two days before Christmas during the day, and a friend recommended I go to the florist there and I was a bit skeptical, for my mother's Christmas present, and I wanted it to be an orchid but I wanted it to be with all the trimmings, no expense spared I was reluctant to go to the grocery store because I didn't think I'd get the same bells and whistles as you do at a florist, but boy was I wrong.!!( See the before and after picture of the orchid I purchased for my Mom) For $35, she removed the case it was in, put a ceramic dish in I liked (there was nothing wrong with the other one just a matter of taste) we were talking and laughing about how difficult certain family members are two-by-four and she did her level best and then some to help me make this the best Christmas present I've ever gotten my Mom!! As you can see, she added ribbons, there was even a stick that had the Virgin Mary s picture, added that at no charge. She is a true florist in every sense, and I could've EASILY paid $70-200 on the same arrangement, but $35!!! Please...give this woman a raise!!!! I'll be using her for ALL my floral gifts in future, and she is the sweetest person! I had such a good time, I forgot I hate florist departments+ stores!( HUGE victory! Lol) I hated admitting to Mom that I didn't spend...
