Iām slightly on the fence about this place. I came here to get a price on a ring resize (platinum thin band; size 8.5 down to a 6.75) and their price was well over what I was quoted at other places. I ended up getting it done for $110 elsewhere and was told that someone charging $250 was unreasonable. I really liked the woman I spoke to, though- she seemed very sweet so when she told me about an event coming up, I booked a spot. I went to the āestate and gold buyingā event on Saturday and had an 11:30am appointment. Upon arrival, I was told there was a line, and I saw 4 other people with huge trays of jewelry to be sorted through. I found it curious that I had an appointment but was told I had to wait in line anyways. Ultimately, I ended up waiting approximately 50 minutes (I only had ONE piece to sellā¦) The gentleman buying the jewelry was quite rude to the elderly lady before me, and I was actually thinking about leaving. He was slightly nicer to me, but that was only AFTER he took a 20 minute cigarette break while I sat waiting. Regardless, he took a look at my diamond and told me it was āfracturedā and that it would āfall apartā once taking it out of the setting. He never offered to actually take it out of the setting, but whatever. I took it back to the jeweler that sized my ring and they pulled the diamond out and found that it was not fractured at all⦠just a cluster of inclusions underneath a prong. I had the diamond appraised and found out it was actually worth a bit more than I thought. So while it all worked out fine, I really donāt think I would return to this place based on this interaction that unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth. Again, the woman (seems to be the owner) was very sweet and kind, and the selection I saw looked nice. I hope they find a new estate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy fiance purchased an engagement ring with another company however I was not 100% happy with everything and needed to get my new ring sized. I was told by my mother that my late grandfather Ben Cressotti always went to Richard's Jewelers for his. So I called and spoke with Tonya asking if they do ring sizing and if they pay for gold since I had some old jewelry as well. She was so helpful and friendly and spoke to you as if she had already known you for a while. We brought the ring and extras in the following day and had Tonya again. She wasn't pushy and she was incredibly honest and so sweet. She worked with me on a plan to open up the back of the setting to make it easier to clean and to catch more light. They rounded the amount of my trade in even though it was less than the alterations to completely cover those which they certainly didn't have to do. Let me tell you, when I picked up the ring I about lost my mind. I started crying because now with their help, my ring was PERFECT. I love it. I'm so happy I took my business here and so grateful for their help and honesty. It's so beautiful. She mentioned Chatum and how beautiful their cuts are and she's totally right. So if we ever have to replace my Emerald because it's a softer stone that will be what we go with for sure. So impressed. The Chatum stuff they have is no joke some of the most beautiful cuts and stones I've ever seen. If you are looking for a jeweler to trust with your business or are on the fence about the one you may currently use, give this place a try, talk with Tonya and see how much better you could have it. I'm so happy. Thank you all so much again. Tonya girl, thank you for everything and you and Michael for making this moment for us even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit 5/20/23: changing my original five star review to 1 star due to the fact that Michael was unwilling to work with me and my significant other once we found out a bit more about the Diamond I purchased. Essentially, we brought the Diamond to various independent jewelers all over Massachusetts and found out that ā- where I thought I was taken care of and my best interests kept in mind ā- I instead got ripped off. When I initially met Michael, I provided him with a budget about what I had for a budget. Instead of acting in good faith and looking out for a customer (me), all he saw were dollar signs. No offer to buy back the ring I purchased (even at 70% of what I paid which means he still would have made plenty of money for not a lot of effort) or an offer for store credit for what I paid. This isnāt how you do business and in my efforts to avoid going to a Kay jewelers/Jaredās/Hannoush and support (what I thought was) a family owned local jewelry store, it backfired. Since I have plenty of friends and family in the area, I have now told them about my experience and the aftermath of what happened. Needless to say, anyone considering to buy anything from this place should steer clear.
Original review: The team at Richardās was nothing short of phenomenal. Mike taught me what to look for in a diamond and spent over an hour teaching me about the 4 Cs of a diamond. Not only did I learn about what to look for in a diamond, I learned that you canāt get this kind of customer service in a bigger jewelry shop. Ultimately, I never felt pressured to purchase something that was not in my budget and I felt like I was being listened to at every step of the way. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking to...
