If you love bad customer service and unprofessionalism head to this store, a level that truly cannot be beat!
Several days ago I ordered a number of items from Home Depot that were scheduled to be delivered yesterday including large shovels, rakes, & a wheelbarrow.
When I called the store earlier in the day to check on the status, I was told that I actually needed to call the 1-800 number because the store couldn't look up any information - no problem! I got off the phone and called the 1-800 number where I was on hold for an hour and a half, only to be told that since the store was delivering the products I had to call the store to get that information. At this point I'm a little frustrated, but understand that confusion happens and with everything going on right now it wasn't that big of a deal.
I called the store back & was told once again that I needed to call the 1-800 number so I asked to speak to the manager - what a mistake! She was rude, unprofessional, & unhelpful. She took my order number and after a few seconds told me she would be unable to provide any additional information than that it was supposed to be delivered between 6am & 8pm and if that's what my email said then that's what would happen.
Well I sat in my living room on my couch looking out my window waiting for that Home Depot truck until 8:30, and spoiler alert - nothing came. Around 7:30 I began calling the store hoping for an update from the manager but unfortunately every time she picked up the phone we were disconnected. The first time or two I assumed it was an accident but after 6 other disconnections I became suspicious. Frustrated and unable to get ahold of anyone I went outside to check my yard one last time and then went to bed after not finding my delivery.
This morning I called the store & was informed that the order was delivered at 7:23 last night, when I explained again that it had not been I was told to go look again because they “hid it”.
Now I am not an expert treasure hunter, and I have been known to loose my keys from time to time, however, there is no wheelbarrow hidden in my yard. It is not a large yard and there is nothing to hide a wheelbarrow in, under, or behind.
After humoring the man and searching the yard AGAIN, he told me that sometimes things get delivered to the wrong house and that I should go check my neighbors yards.
I popped over to the other side of the duplex and did not find it there so he suggested looking across the street and at the duplex next to ours. I’m all for being a team player, but I am not going rooting around in my neighbors yards attempting to locate a hidden wheelbarrow that may or may not be there.
When I explained my uneasiness about invading my neighbors yards he suggested that I call the number that the delivery driver left when he delivered the items last night. After mustering every ounce of self control I had and suppressing the urge to scream in frustration I reminded him again that I did not get a delivery last night and that that was why I was calling.
He informed me that he would look into the matter and call my back. He was very polite however I am beyond frustrated at this point. I understand confusion and misunderstandings, but the level of unprofessionalism, disorganization, and general incompetence has been mind boggling.
Although I had plans that relied on the successful delivery of my tools by today, that is not where my biggest frustration and point of grievance lies - the customer service that I received was completely unacceptable and will cause me to think twice before shopping there in the future.
Is my lack of patronage going to affect Home Depot at all? No, I'm not delusional. Is anyone going to read this yelp review? Probs not. Am I being a textbook Karen? Absolutely. But, I don't care, this was a very frustrating experience & if you're looking to enjoy the true glory of a home improvement store I'd suggest finding a local business or switching from orange to blue to...
Read moreDon't even bother renting tools from here if you want to be charged extra for supposedly breaking their equipment that was already given to you broken. I rented a rug doctor machine for 24 hours. The drain line wasn't even attached and I was unaware of it. Leaked all over my carpet as I was trying to clean. I didn't know it was broken until I went to hook up the attachment to do my stairs and realized the line didn't go to the attachment and went to something else or nothing At all.
I called home depot and explained to them that there is a random line that has no connection on one side. The line matched the same line on the attachment tool so figured it might of went to attachment but nope...They told me to bring it in so I did. Told me that it was the drain hose and told me they would add extra time for the inconvenience if I brought back the machine to swap out for a new one. To make it even worse, the employee who fixes them showed me how to out the attachment in wrong lmao
I brought the machine back, spoke to a different employee who LITERALLY told me that the employee who rented this to me has only worked there for 2 weeks and has no idea what he's doing/talking about. He added extra time. When I went to return the machine, i found out I was charged an additional amount for "damaging" the machine when IT WAS ALREADY GIVEN TO ME BROKEN. I argued for 25 minutes, even the manager was arguing with me. They kept arguing with me saying the employee would never give me a broken machine like humans never make mistakes?. Not to mention how rude and nasty they were to me. So of course I gave it back. What ever happened to customer satisfaction?. I will never rent from here again. I was also told that I "waived" the damage protection when IT WAS NEVER EVEN OFFERED TO ME DURING THE TIME OF SALE. The ASM didn't even ask my complaint or concerned only listened to the employees side of everything LMFAO
I left VERY upset... I mean...
Read moreI keep saying I will not go back to this Home Depot but keep caving in from conveinience . Not anymore. The Westfield location has the rudest least helpful employees of any in the area and that's saying something. Enfield is about on par and I have not been back to that location for about 3 years. Springfield is way too far and I have to pass no less than 4 other home improvement store so I just do not go. West Springfield is not much better in the employee department, if a tad better, but their stock is not as good. Today I went to go in and as I normally do park by the Contractors area and go in, in the pouring rain they had an employee telling everyone to go to the other entrance. Then in a nice sarcastic voice she said "Your welcome." To which I reply "evidently I am not welcome". She then responds "whatever". Now my blood is a little warm. As I walk in the entrance Home Depot has deemed appropriate in a downpour there is a gentleman, and I use that term loosely, welcoming people. So they have enough employees to say welcome and redirect customers to another entrance but not enough to help customers on the floor. OK. As I walk in he says "Welcome to Home Depot." Again I reply "apparently I am not very welcome here. Forcing people to walk from one entrance to another in the pouring rain is not very welcoming. As a mater of fact it is B.S." He responds "well you don't have to be here." Seeing the wisdom of his words I say you are absolutely right and leave. The nice thing about todays world is the choice to go where companies want your business. I used to go to this outlet from convenience. Now, I have no problem driving 15 minutes out of my way to spend my money with a company who wants my business. I get it, we live in an economy where for every person you anger 10 more will take their place. Well I am sure HD will not miss my business but then again I will not miss their rude...
