I wanted to like Costco so badly. I have extended family that worked at various Colorado locations and raved about their experiences, I however have not had the same experience.
Today I drove to Costco, walked to the back of the store, looked for the beer we wanted for about 5 minutes before realizing it wasn't being sold there, settled for another case of beer, grabbed a few other items we needed (baby food, bacon, yogurt), waited in line for about 6 minutes to check out, then tried to pay for the beer which the checkout clerk would not let me buy because my 23 year old sister-in-law was with me and did not have her I.D.
The cashier said it was Colorado Law (it's not) that we both have our ID. I had my ID (I'm 25) with MY credit card and MY Costco card and she wouldn't let me buy the beer we went there to buy. My SIL never touched the beer, didn't pay for anything and it wasn't her Costco membership.
For the sake of not making a scene in front of a very long line, I told her that it WAS NOT Colorado law and she should look that up properly and paid for our other items and left
On top of this, the last 2 times I've gone I bought food with mold only to be told that I "waited to long to return it" and they wouldn't refund my card (it was only 3 days the first time and 1 day the next time). I also know this is not what Costco typically does. They have always been praised for taking ALMOST anything back. Not this location I guess.
The first time we went after getting our membership card, I forgot my debit card in the car, so my husband tried to pay, and the cashier very rudely informed us that HE was not allowed to pay since the membership was under my name. She let us "do it just this one time" but told us no one else would let it fly. She DID NOT mention to us that we easily could have added him as a household member online.
We have had nothing but poor experiences at this location and I have canceled my membership as a result. We'll stick to Sam's club instead.
I would say I wish I could give 0 stars, but the ONE thing that redeemed them a tiny bit was that canceling and getting a full refund on my membership fee was quick and painless. I called the customer service number, gave them my info and I have my refund on the way. I wish it had been this kind of customer service at this location and not just on the phone.
I truly hope the other Costco locations are better than this one. Maybe we'll give them another shot when we don't live so close...
Read moreGo anywhere else for tires, you’ll be far better off! Don’t buy from them! Read the whole review if you want the details.
I’ll start this off by saying, I wish I could review just the tire shop. Because the actually main chunk of the store is fine staff is pretty chill. However, the tire service was so terrible that I have to give the whole place a 1 star. I’d give the tire peeps negative stars if I could.
A quick note before reading this, the tires I tried to buy were a recommendation from a friend who has worked on cars for 20 years as a mechanic, so I know these tires are great for what you pay for, not the best if the best, but great for what you’re paying for.
Alright on to the details, I came in asking for a particular tire, and they immediately tried to talk us out of it because it wasn’t the tire they wanted to buy. Every excuses in the book came out, oh those aren’t great, it’ll take a bit to get them in stock, we no rebate on them, you’ll need a second set of tires because these are for SNOW DRIVING only.
After all that, we asked them what they’d recommend then, and I straight up watched the person on the computer scroll down to the very bottom of their tire list to their most expensive tire, and recommended it. The best part about this was, she looked at the tire mechanic in the shop and said something along the lines of these are what we recommend right? Best bang for your buck right here! And he started to say no, but she had him look at the price on the screen and he changed his opinion immediately and was like yep! Best tire right there! After I saw that I made up an excuse that we needed to think a bit more about it and we left.
Now fast forward a couple of days, we finally order the tires we want despite them talking to us about different tires AGAIN. We ask what appointment times they have for Friday or Saturday and they say the ONLY time we have for appointments is Friday, so we book to appointment and while we’re there on Friday a few other people walk into book appointments while we’re waiting and the people at the desk say “oh we have plenty of time on Saturday, morning, noon, or evening.” So in other words they even lied about appointment times too.
So in other words, if you wanna be treated like trash, and being lied to multiple times. All while being talked down too and made to feel like an idiot then this is the...
Read moreAfter my visit at this location today, I can say that I will never in my lifetime become a Costco member. My husband and I received a Costco membership as a wedding present. We tried to use the card for the first time today. After spending 10 minutes on the phone activating the membership card a few weeks before our trip today, the message said the card was now activated and could be used after 24 hours. Today, after spending an hour or so picking up items in the store for purchase, we get to the register and the cashier acts like we are idiots and rudely tells us that the card doesn't work and we have to use it to get a membership at the counter. This was never in the instructions on when I activated the card over the phone, so there was no way I could have known this was required. We walk over to the counter and end up spending nearly an hour there. A total of four associates, including a couple managers, can't figure out how the membership card works, and keep saying it has $0 on it (even though it isn't a gift card, but a membership card). They look up the people who gave us the gift to look up the transaction history, call a couple people, and talk amongst themselves for nearly half an hour. Eventually they just say "sorry, we can't figure it out." So after spending 2 hours picking out items, standing in the cash register line, and standing at the help counter, we left with nothing. They wouldn't even give us the courtesy of letting us purchase the items we had picked out that day. Their only recommendation was to give the membership card back to the people who gifted it to us and make them do a refund online and repurchase the membership, since they weren't able to do it in store for some odd reason. What a hassle. Just giving the card back to our friends for a refund and telling them to not worry about buying us another. Complete and udder waste of time with extremely poor...
