I think this is a new place as they are still doing some reno and the store sign is a simple paper on top of the original sign. So don't get afraid or shy away from it; you will regret it.
We ordered 4 things for take out here:
Lamb Madras Saag Paneer Dal Makhani Aloo Chaat (sorry, I don't see this on the menu right now)
The Aloo chaat was the least favorite. For my taste buds, it was way way too tangy. If you like really tangy things though, you will like this. Additionally, I wish the pieces of the potatoes were cut much much smaller. Something close to the Bengali aloo chat.
The Lamb Madras was interesting. I requested it to be 'extra spicy' and it was 'extra spicy' and I LOVED the heat. Never tried this dish before so didn't know what to expect. For my taste buds, it was a little more tangy than I like (not as tangy at the aloo chaat but still tangy enough)
The saag paneer was fantastic. I am SO HAPPY that they have done away with the usual saag paneer where places completely disintegrate the spinach into a smooth gravy. In my opinion, a good saag paneer should have some texture. Some volume. This fit the bill. It reminded me of the saag paneer I've made years ago (or at least that's what my wife said).
The star of this order though was the dal makhani. I think it has got to be one of the top 10 dal makhanis I have had on the planet. While rich, it was DELICIOUS.
I notice they serve a lunch buffet only on Fridays and Saturdays. I am hoping to try their buffet out this Friday. Can't wait.
Yes, I did not try my beloved samosas here. Not that I'm cheap but I am from the Indian origin so I just can't justify paying $7 for 2 samosas (at least that's what the picture shows). I think I will have to help myself on this one and just do...
Read moreI honestly drove there because of the almost 5 stars on the reviews! And I was disappointed, I don't recommend it. I went around 5.30 and it was empty and cold. Why the tables have silverware and it's spotless clean. But the good part end here. Water is served right away. I order samosa and main dish Rise with veggies. The samosa was heated not fresh. There was mint salsa that was good. The naan taste fake just fine nothing that I will purchase again. It's regular Bread with someone spises NO GARLIC ON IT!! THE rise and veggie is far from Indian food taste. The rise is not salted at all. The veggie mix is bad. No indian spices at all. There is some liquid tomato salsa and red paper inside, not spicy as original Indian food. The veggies inside are half row and it's liquid. Just seam like a Mexican person tried to cook Indian food for the first time. I do that food better. Then I ordered lentil dull soup. I try it, it's very liquid bad taste, for sure not Indian. Look like some mixed drilled veggies not lentils. It's extremely salty no other spices.
It is not good. On top of that is expensive. The bread is 3.50- and is served cold. The samosa is okay. The rise is cold and so is the fake salsa and teste bad.
The rise and veggie is 16$!!! The dull is like 6/7$! But it's not about the money is just not good. I don't understand why this place has 4.8! I think that they pay for the rating to block the real once. If someone has never been to Indian restaurant and never tried original Indian food it may fall for it. Do not recommend, I will not visit again.
