This review is a tad bit late but I gather, from other reviews, that nothing has changed, so I'll post it regardless. I had my 1st (and only visit) to this theater about 5 months ago, because I happened to be in the area and a film I'd wanted to see was playing with a convenient start time.
By and large, the staff were friendly and pretty helpful. The food from the concessions was typical AMC fare and subpar quality, so nothing great there. The restroom was a bit unkept but not filthy. As far as the auditorium I was in, that's where all the issues are: the seats had to be the absolute WORST & most uncomfortable I've ever experienced in ANY movie theater (even those of run of the mill, small theaters like the Logan in Chicago and Pickwick in Park Ridge). I felt nothing but hard metal right underneath my knees, so I literally had to sit halfway OFF of the seat JUST so I could attempt to get thru the entire movie. It was also sweltering hot (like 90 degree HOT) and I did have to wipe down the cupholder, arm rest and seat itself, as it was quite dirty.
As I stated earlier, I ATTEMPTED to stay for the entire film but the pain on my knees were just too much to bear, so I left about an hour into the film. I love the location and the fact that the patrons that go there are very well-behaved and courteous (at least in the auditorium I was in). But I just cannot recommend AMC Randhurst, ESPECIALLY to individuals who may suffer from issues with their legs or back, as you will suffer IMMENSELY, watching a movie while attempting to sit in those seats. Unless a substantial upgrade is performed in those auditoriums, I...
Read moreDealt with the so called General Manager CLIFF in this location. I bought nachos with extra cheese and asked for jalapeños. The kid asked how many I wanted and I replied 5 (like I usually have) I don’t take what I don’t finish cause I don’t like wasting food. He butted in to our conversation and he said that you only get one for free and extras are 50 cents each. I replied back asking him since when cause I was just here last week to watch Superman and bought the same thing and was never charged. He said since June and we’re already in July. If that was the case he should or the company should train every one working in this theater to make sure they know what they are selling or offering. He said to wait for it in the menu screen and it will pop out. I told him that I’ve been standing there and I don’t see it. What’s the use of buying nachos if I can’t get extras might as well get a refund. Cliff then replied “ let’s go get you a refund” I don’t mind paying for if it was posted somewhere or was told beforehand like I know I have to pay for extra cheese because when you ask for it in the cashier they tell you that’s there’s extra fee. He ruined the experience for me tonight 7/22/25 might as well bring...
Read moreExperience was terrible. There were like 30 minutes of previews after the movie's start time and they were all like twice as loud as the movie blowing out everyone's eardrums. Fantastic Four was a good watch and there were no issues during the showing. Audio and video were good but I cant understand for the life of me how anyone in the front rows is supposed to see what is happening on the screen. We were in the love seats and had to move to the upper seats to even see what was happening on screen. I sat in the front row of Emagine theater a month ago and saw Superman perfectly. AMC price gouges the food and drinks to the point of parody (The CEO of AMC makes 11 million dollars a year). $10 for a terrible frozen pizza heated up in a toaster oven, $6.45 for a small fountain drink, $6.45 for a small smartwater, $5.75 for a 12 oz Dasani. They also use gut toxic soybean oil for the self serve 'popcorn butter'. Switch to coconut oil and stop poisoning your patrons, maybe you can afford it after robbing everyone with criminal markups. How hard is it to teach your staff how to make pizza by hand? They say 'flatbread' to make it sound premium but its just microwave/toaster oven ready...
