Academy is great but this experience was not. First the carts we're stuck together because they were different kinds so I had to come and get a worker to separate them (he was very sweet). We walk back to buy women's soccer cleats (season practice starts at the high school) and we're told all they have is about 6pair in a buggy in the isle. Now that was disappointing because women/girls like choices. So I asked if they price matched and was told they did yea! Oh but no price tag so had to find a worker with price gun but his gun didn't work so we had to go to a station and scan and again another sweet guy. Another worker over heard my question and loudly said "price match? What's the problem!" I said "there is no problem I just asked a question". I was embarrassed by this. Oh by the way the shoes were cheaper than any other place I looked online yea! I head to the check out and remember I needed a radio for me jogger husband for his birthday so I asked and they young man at check out said" I don't know? But you can look down there..." I stopped him and said can you call someone who will know like a manager so I don't have to drag my kids all over the store? So he called a young man over and asked him and he said "uh I don't think so, we have weather radios but they are bigger" sorry. All this workout stuff and no headsets with radios? Oh well. Read moreI'm not saying that Academy practically stole money from me on a refund--but I am ABSOLUTELY insinuating it. I bought pickleball paddles for 30 dollars just last week and used them exactly one time before they broke at the handle. I brought them back and wanted a refund in order to get another paddle. Unfortunately, I did not have the receipt in my possession-- but I have returned things using the same card used to purchase many times at different places. Anyways, upon refund the register would not take my card and the cashier informed me that they cannot type in the card number(same one that I used to purchase) in order to issue a full refund, so I had to use my license. I was peeved to learn that I would only be receiving 15 dollars back and only in store credit. So basically Academy gets to keep my initial 30 dollars and I get only credit for half of that. What a lousy deal. So I sincerely hope that this particular Academy uses the money taken from me to get a card reader that can actually read a card in order to give a fair refund for their lousy products. Read moreWent to buy work boots for my husband today and some brooks for myself, we always shop at this particular location and never have had a problem. But today we had a very rude older women that had glasses on follow us through the aisles (not helping) fixing every single box we touched to look at (before we even grabbed any boxes the whole aisle was already boxes pushed to back) this lady kept bringing them forward I understand that they have to do that to make store look clean as I have worked in retail many years but she made us feel so uncomfortable and kept speaking to someone on her device and telling them “I was suppose to get out of here in 10 minutes but not I have to redo this whole aisle because these damn kids messed it up” repeatedly kept telling whoever she was speaking to at that point my blood was boiling already and never did she even ask if we needed help she was standing there watching us eating chips, this was such a bad experience they really need people more professional that was horrible...
