Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in White Township

There was a wide selection and great prices as usual. But this particular location was lacking. I understand many businesses are understaffed and theyre forced to take what they can get. Not a single associate that saw us asked us if we were finding everything okay, or needed help, not as much as a smile from anyone. The aisles are typically pretty crowded with items but it seemed in excess here. Unfortunately i had to use the restroom which was absolutely unacceptable. The floors were absolutely filthy. Not just with toilet paper, but (I'm assuming) urine, dirt, and just a major build up of dust and grime on every corner and surface I saw. The toilet paper dispenser had 3 & 9/10 empty rolls out of 4. There was no soap. It was so dark once in the stall. Maybe that's so the uncleanness is less noticeable. Then when we got to the checkout there were 2 associates ringing. Both were so rude when they'd say "NEXT CUSTOMER!" there was another customer ar the other register holding up the line for the duration we were there along with 5 people ahead of us. There was an issue and the kid at the register seemed to not know what to really do and I didn't see a single supervisor attempt to come assist. Our associate that was taking care of us didnt even say hello, how are you, etc. Nothing. And acted like having to be at work was a complete inconvenience along with the line of customers. As the items started piling up on the counter after they were rung, then falling off due to a lack of space, I went ahead and just bagged my own items. It was quite the experience. I'll return to Ollie's but probably not...

Found a heater but only had floor model left. They offered a 10% discount for buying it. Got to register, used my 15% discount coupon. After ringing it up I said the discounted price didn't sound right. They said it was accurate. Got to the car, reviewed receipt and noted the discount was not 10% plus 15% for a total of 25% off. When I asked in the store was told they don't "stack" discounts so only gave the 15% discount, even though the cashier originally assured me the 10% discount was also applied. I felt this was very deceptive. Returned heater and left. Always double check your receipts. They need to explain this "policy" when this happens at time of purchase, not only if you question...

Ollie's is a lower-tier Big Lots type store with close-outs on clothes, food, housewares, and a particularly-large supply of books. There are some significant deals and they offer (and push) an online enrollment which periodically offers discounts (up to 15%) based on purchases. The store is crowded and displays can be messy but staff is usually helpful when asked. It is true that sometimes checkout is crowded and slow. They have a liberal return policy- as long as you have your receipt. If you are looking for eclectic food items that you can no longer find at Walmart, etc. this might be a place to check- but buy them when you can because they will be gone and not...
