I LOVE this place. A lot of the other discount clothing stores have started raising their prices, but Gabe's is staying true to the mission. The last time I was there, I was wearing a white sleeveless Express Body Contour crop top that I paid about $30 for, and I saw the EXACT SAME THING for six or seven bucks! I had just cut the tags off the one I was wearing that morning. I was so mad at myself.
The staff at this particular location have always stood out as extra friendly. I get confused by the rewards program, and they're always super helpful and patient.
I usually only think about the music playing in a store if I hate it or if it's too loud (and it's usually both). But I probably end up being there five or ten minutes longer than I otherwise would because I zone out on the music. I don't love every single song, but I'm usually happy to hear most of them, and I've never heard anything there that I hated. It's the little things that move the needle from "love" to "kind of obsessed". I don't know who decides what songs get played, but I want to go to a party at that...
Read moreI think you need to visit the Gabe's in Quakertown to fully appreciate the difference in these two stores. I love Gabe's in Quakertown. It's neat, it's clean, broken items are removed from the shelf. I can shop without searching through a pile of disorganized items. The staff is present and not on their phones during checkout - and that experience has happened both times I've visited the store in Whitehall. In Quakertown, the aisles are clear of fallen merchandise, a cart can be pushed through the entire store, and there's a general sense that whoever manages the store takes pride in keeping it looking clean and neat. If you're interested in a headless peacock, empty boxes of toys, and a general storewide sense of disorganization, go to the Whitehall Gabe's. I had to squash my desire to stack their books and clear out the broken clearance section. Take pride in your store and hire people who care about customer service, rather than openly discussing how much they can't wait to get off work. Gabe's is great, but the shopping experience and selection is so much better...
Read moreThis place has horrible customer service and you will be waiting at least 20 mins to check out with there only being one cashier. I recently went there to return two items one was a romper for 5.99 the other was a lunch box for $11.99. I had a receipt for the items but didn’t have the tag for the lunch box due to my child ripping it by mistake. The cashier called her manger over to approve the return of both items and the manager said that she couldn’t return the lunchbox until she went and reviewed the cameras. Mind you both items were clearly described on the receipt. I had already waited in line for a good 10-15 minutes and couldn’t spare anymore time for her to review the cameras over an $11.99 item so I wasn’t able to return it. With the way I was treated I won’t be returning to that store. I cant believe I was treated in that manner. It makes me wonder if that is the policy for everyone trying to return items. That’s a completely insane way to treat...
