La Venadita Meat Market — Local services in Whittier

UPDATE: 9/24/2022 We’ve been customers of La Venadita for many years, As my old review posted below, I had to update a new review because of what we experienced yesterday, We bought chicken legs, Ceviche and jaiva. It was all bad, we are only 10 minute drive from the market to our house, I open the bag of meat right away to clean it, to cook it, it smelled so bad it made me want to throw up, very gross, I’m sure the butcher smelled the meat when he put it in the bag, the ceviche and jaiva were also bad, we called them right away to let them know, we just were left grossed from this, we couldn’t think of going back to buy anything from here. After the many years, this being our best place for the meat. We will no longer buy or ever go back. This could of gotten all of us very sick. They need to be more careful.

When we lived in Torrance, we waited in long lines at the only Venadita Market then. Moving to Norwalk and having a market close by, is the best. There's no Big or small meat market has the quality of the Carne Asada they do! simply the Very BEST!! The Ceviche is the best also , haven't found another that compares.. Great Tasting...

A few months ago, I bought some marinated chicken, took it home to bbq right after. Took a taste before serving it to my family and I almost threw up. The meat was rotten, couldn't see it or smell it prior because it was marinated. We gave this store a second chance. This past weekend, my wife bought 2 gallons of over priced milk, expiring July 7th. Opened the 2nd gallon July 5th and it was sour. Tried to return it July 6th and they would not take it back. The milk had not reached the expiration date yet. This is not the first time we buy milk and expires before the expiration date. I will never...

This is an A+ Carniceria ... I love this place. It's clean and the Customer Service is amazing. The butchers are really friendly, and the staff behind the registers are extremely very nice. I'm in a wheelchair and it is very easy for me to get around. The prices seem a little cheaper than everywhere else. They always have what I want, and the variety is great. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh. The selection in salsa's, and pan dulce is always fresh and delicious. I will always shop there as long as management doesn't change.
