Right by my house literally walkable, I like being able to see the items on the end caps of the shelves change every few days, that’s the kind of stuff I like buying at thrift stores (wooden masks, wooden indigenous statues from all over the world, homeade items are always fun and one of a kind) usually that stuff is usually decent to great deals, same goes for here, I will say other things are a few dollars more expensive then good will but the owner is right when stating it’s for a good causes, I’ve personally been helped in the past as well as seen how much they do just at their emergency/general help building on Washington Blvd and it is amazing, like LiFe SAVING amazing and I don’t mean it’s great, cool , nice, but it made me cry with how much they do for complete strangers. So yes thrift stores are known for having t-shirts that were $50 brand new and selling them for 99cents (see what I did there..? The song ? :). These stores I know and have seen where the money goes, Salvation Army was also the first and only state and country aid that went to help an entire large city that was burned down due to racism in the 1920’s. So I know suuuper long ramble but their history is amazing and was started by all females and grew from there. So yeah prices are a bit higher than good will but at least I know 100% where their money goes, and if you want dirt cheap prices and helping the less fortunate than yourself there is always Temu, Shine or other websites like those, and you can give your money to sweatshops in Asia, Africa, and America (yea there are maaaany sweatshops in America people get tricked and trapped in). At least buying from the Salvation Army you know you’re not funding bad company’s run by bad ppl. OH lastly side note the Salvation Army stores have hecka sales all the time… well monthly just sign up for texts or their website:) right now Jan 24th and 25th 2025 all clothes are mostly $2.99 and some others for $4.99 so ima check it out y’all...
Read moreI usually like coming to this Salvation Army. It’s fairly new and staff has been friendly but today the Manager Antwan was being extremely unprofessional, scolding his employee in front of customers, talking bad about anothet employee, and a young lady came in for an interview and in front of her he tells the other young lady he was scolding to let him know when her friend applys, in front of the potential new hire! Very very unprofessional and uncomfortable to hear as you are shopping. Hopefully upper management sees this and retrains this Manager, i can only imagine what else goes on, mind you i was only there from 9am-9:30 and i witnessed all of this. Horrible. Besides that the store is great, and hopefully something changes because i wasnt the only customer bothered by...
Read moreUPDATING TO LOWER MY REVIEW EVEN MORE: I just went back to try and see if things improved at all, and I can confidently say it’s gotten worse. Stained clothes for $13 dollars, cheap clothing like SHEIN brands for $8+. I think it’s actually insane that they are charging so much for SECOND HAND CLOTHES. these are items already used and worn, why would someone pay $20 for that? Even with the 50% tag sales it’s not worth it. 50% a $25 item that’s stained and worn out? What a deal!
Sadly all of the reviews about the pricing is true. VERY overpriced. The employees were super helpful and kind which is my only reason for giving it 2 stars. Go to the Goodwill less then a mile away for way better prices and things are actually organized by size so you don’t have to dig through all...
