Would of been 5 STAR hands down until my last day here. Stayed here for three days while renovating my apartment and this place was great! Newly renovated, extremely clean, every employee was perfect until my last day. Check out was at 11am, called at 10am and asked for 30 minute late check out but was cut off mid sentance by Rashne (front desk girl) and she said "no late check out!", I told her I was here a few weeks ago and she said "no more late check outs!" So I said ok. Checked the Vegabond Whittier website and sure enough under terms and conditions it said "guests check out is at 11am but are permitted to check out at noon (12pm)". I mentioned that to her upon returning my door card and she said that those terms only applied if you booked online, not for booking at the hotel. First off, how did she know I didnt book online before she said no if she asked me if i did book online when i returned the key. Second, i had my cat with me which i paid extra $15 a day to have for fee. After i put my cat in the car and walked in the door she said, "if that's your cat? There is a $15 fee we charge", I said I know and as I'm walking out the door she frantically looks for my paperwork as to assume I didnt pay the fee and after she saw that, she just says "Bye" and walks away lol Everything was absolutely perfect until I came in contact with her. I'm sorry Vegabond but you need to pick better staff. I'll update this next...
Read moreGood for emergency stay. Although housekeeping staff do a good job, it seems housekeepers are hindered from doing a (great) job. Motel owner, or management seem unwilling to pay for new linen, pillows, and blankets. Housekeeping staff seem hurried and fearful of management. Seems the staff are paid way below scale, and are made to do with the utilities given them, and with little help offered by the front desk. Pool water had some debris floating, and parking had cement parking blocks placed almost in center of driveway. I drove over one and could have ruptured the gas tank, or broke something else. L-shaped parking lot... so the parking blocks are hard to see. Front desk personnel on the snarky side. Bed sheet hole or tear repaired with what seemed like dried whiteout liquid, and pillows were tiny, lumpy, and well used. The rooms look nice when you first walk in but after getting settled you begin to take notice. Rates are pricy for what you get, especially during holidays. $120 - $180 on holidays. The new Doubletree hotel on Greenleaf Ave. offer same rates only the rooms with a view are worth it, plus it has a cocktail bar and lounge, live music,...
Read moreHorrible. Don't get me wrong they gave it a great facelift and and updated decor. but the first thing I noticed when I walked in was a spider crawling on the wall. Didn't think too much of it until I walked into the restroom and found a cockroach crawling out of the bathtub on the wall, and then as I walked out of the bathroom towards the closet there was another spider on the wall along with a cockroach on the floor! This was after I had gone to the room I was checked into I believe room two hundred and there was actually people in that room sleeping when I went downstairs to complain or let them know there was already people there they almost didn't give me another room even though I had paid the curtains were torn up top and the bed liners were torn as well it was as if somebody had been crawling under the bed and cutting out pieces I don't know maybe to watch people in the room it was quite creepy! After about 30 minutes there I had the heebie-jeebies and just decided I'd rather sleep in my car so we left and will never go back there again! I've been to many hotels in my life and never experienced something like...
