Lightning took out my beloved Sony SXRD KDS 60A3000 60" rear projection television after almost 10 years of trouble free operation. I did lots of research online for a replacement before I did any shopping at the stores. The wife and I decided to go to Hephner TV in Wichita, Kansas first. They have a service department and that is a huge plus when buying a new expensive television. If a problem comes up it is much easier to deal with a service manager than dealing directly with the manufacturer.

I was greeted by Rob one of their salesmen. He was very friendly and really knows his stuff. I listened carefully to the information he provided about different sets. He made only one error that I detected and that was the weight of the TV I was interested in. This minor error had no bearing on my purchase. Rob at no time pressured me to buy a set, he just offered information, showed us features and demonstrated the televisions. The wife and I ended up buying a LG OLED 65E7 set. The television price was somewhat more than I had planned to spend (about double), but the picture quality, simple remote control and the 178 degree viewing angle pushed me over the edge. Hephner's price was as good as Best Buy and $400 less than ordering from Walmart so I took the plunge. Mr. Hephner offered to test the set before we took it home to make sure it wasn't DOA and that took all of about 5 minutes to un-box, test and re-box it.

We are very pleased with the new LG OLED 65" TV and our experience at Hephner TV was great. They will be my first stop in the future when looking for TV and Audio equipment.

P.S. To the guy that posted the negative review regarding the capacitor incident. Not sure which planet you grew up on, but electronic parts are NEVER returnable unless they are obviously defective. Your lengthy negative review regarding a $4.00 capacitor...

We went looking for home theater equipment over the summer and came across a projector system which included instillation. Decided against it as we were moving. My wife surprised me with a similar system she found, but did not include instillation. Called Hephner, talked to Michael and said I have a system I need a screen hung and projector set up, and possibly a surround system. So he sends Kelcey out for a consult. I show Kelcey the space and the products we have on hand, and say we will most likely get a sound system to go with the projector from them. We talk look around. He leaves after charging me the consult fee of $134.38. sends me the quote, which is only for the surround sound system equipment, with a note saying after the screen is hung and projector is set up, we can pay them $200 an hour to set up the sound system. So I call back and try to find out why the primary reason I called them, the install and set up of my screen and projector was not included in their quote. Michael gets back on the phone and says, my notes say we talked about a surround system, I said, no I explicitly said I need a screen hung and projector set up to both you and Kelcey, and that we would probably get a surround sound system. Michael tells me we don't do that, we recommend cablecom for that. call them. Oh and if you want the surround system we have the pieces in stock. So instead of saying we don't do what you are asking for when I called and asked if they could do a projector/screen install, they lied, took my money under false pretense then tells me when I call to ask why what I asked for wasn't included. and said go to this other company that does it, then come back and drop $3k on surround system from us. Yeah, so instead of getting commission and profit from a $3k sound system plus install had they been honest they are getting a negative review on every site out there saying...

Words cannot begin to explain how happy I am with them! Honestly don’t understand why everyone doesn’t buy from them! I’ve lived in Wichita my whole life other then when I was in the military. I cannot believe I haven’t been recommended to shop there before! It’s the whole package!!!!!! They price everything to meet or beat places around town including big name stores! They are so knowledgeable it’s crazy! I learned so much about TVs and surround sound I feel like a tv guru now. I went in to purchase a surround sound. Wasn’t looking at a cheap one either. He literally down sold me. Told me for what I was wanting he wouldn’t recommend somthing like that. Said he would sell it to me but he suggested somthing else much cheaper. I’m so happy with my purchase. I went back in to look at a tv thinking no way they can beat or atleast match the big name stores. They surprised me again! I will never buy a tv or surround sound from any other place. They even came out at no cost and helped me configure my speakers. When I learned I couldn’t do it myself.
