My daughter, Naomi (age 7) and I are pretty spontaneous; we decided to make a last minute road trip to Tempe AZ. On Friday the 19th of June I had taken my car to Ford Country to have all my tires checked, rotated and oil changed to prepare for our trip. Now this was our FIRST road trip driving to AZ but we were so excited for this adventure! Saturday morning we headed out at 5am so we could try to beat the heat! We enjoyed our time there with our amazing friends! Sunday, unfortunately it was time for us to head back. Our friends talked us into leaving later in the day as opposed to so early in the morning so we can play in the pool again. As we were heading back things were as smooth as they could be. Being the crazy girls that we are, we were just singing and dancing a long in the car, entertaining ourselves on the long trip. My car started beeping, as I looked down the warning light came on and it read LOW TIRE PRESSURE... I looked back up and saw we were coming into a small town. I pulled over to this deserted gas station to check out my tires. Everything looked fine? It was strange.... I called my dad who's a retired owner to a automotive repair shop. He said it may be the sensors if I don't see anything? He told me to check the air in my tires, well being where I was, I told him I would drive a little further to see if an active gas station was nearby? Naomi, of course was asking a million questions and I explained everything will be just fine =). We drove just a little further and I saw a tire place that was closed, Ford dealership that was closed and then a gas station. As I pulled in the air tank had a big sign on it that said OUT OF SERVICE... Ugh, I walked around my car again checking all the tires and I noticed a slash about a half an inch long, on the wall of the back right tire. I immediately started crying, freaking out, and not knowing what I was going to do. I had no idea what was around, if there was any hotels? More places to eat besides a taco bell? I got back into the car and made some phone calls. Friends were saying they would come and get us but we were 1 1/2 from Tempe and still 3 hours to Henderson. When I called my insurance for roadside they had to use a GPS signal to locate me because I had no idea where I was. She said we were in a small city called Wickenburg and it could be an hour before someone comes. She said she could have a police officer sit with us until roadside comes. At first I said no, saying they have more important things to do then sit with us while we wait and she explained that it really wouldn't be a problem. So since I was with my girl and again not knowing ANYTHING about this town, I said ok. Utility bill worker is rude, never sent our requested info. Also, had a rescheduled shut off for our move out. Utility worker shut it off earlier than scheduled because the lady in utility billing forgot to put in info correctly. There is public parking across the street to the south and a small area in front of this building. I believe this is the nicest Maricopa County...
