Rent-A-Center — Local services in Wilkes-Barre

We decided to give rent a center a try when we moved up here in January. Little did I know we’d have nothing but issues. Like clockwork everytime payment was due we’d get a phone call. My boyfriend’s number had been changed in early January. He hadn’t gotten a chance to update the number with RAC . They sent two guys to my house where they were banging on my door. My teenage son was home alone when they came banging. Scaring my child. Then it happened again a few weeks later. Only we were home. We were getting ready to make a payment when they came banging at my door. While yes a few payments were late, nevertheless they were paid. I called last week to have all payments be made for yesterday. I explained we wanted it switched to monthly. Constantly getting “you have to pay this to get it to this date”. I told them last week my bf gets done work at 4. They called him at 3pm yesterday leaving a voicemail. So I called them back to tell them we will no longer be doing business with them. The harassing phone calls were unnecessary and we’ve had enough. The dude I spoke to yesterday cut me off and was rude. Today they call him again while he’s working. They were supposed to be here at 10am today. They called to ask when they are supposed to pick up. When the guys got here they caused damaged to my home again. This time breaking my handle on my screen door. They damaged my dryer vent as well. I don’t even care about the money wasted on the dryer that didn’t work correctly at this point. But damage to my home I do...

We pay our bill every two weeks we've paid off 5 items currently..today my husband and I went back in today to make a final payment on a stereo I needed a set of end tables and asked if there was a set cash and carry there was however the center table was all scratched we've been a customer for a long time the manager had a price of 100.00 for this dirty glitter all over it table set..I reupholster items it not the issue ..they just took this set from a customer that wasn't able to finish paying then trying to get the same price as if it were new..I will be calling bbb ..in may of last year we got a table set (dinningroom) it's still sitting in the store we returned it due to the chairs having stains and little red critters ..many times we recieved a late fee because we were told Do not pay Online..I. a customer service rep and I am also a collection agent you just want your delinquency down because you get a bonus....I wonder if corporate knows of the business you are running...

WAYFAIR, WAYFAIR, WAYFAIR the fact that this store has 3.4 stars is horrible, probably paid advertising. I moved here to Pennsylvania from California looking for a new bed for my new apartment. Fast forward to being couple days late on a payment. Talk about animals, as a young respectful lady, I would never thought it would come to me actually calling someone an animal but that’s my experience here. I have a couple of friends transferring here for school and had to beg them, not to come here even though the price and the items look appealing. Not worth the disrespect. And being a black women and the owner calling me a criminal did it for me, I wanted them to come remove the property immediately . But I’m happy with my beautiful bed from WAYFAIR. People read the reviews, do not come here, specially if you’re a young female, going to school have a part-time job. This place is for the old folks....
