This place used to be so top tier for fun drinking entertainment in williamsburg. Its clean and I appreciate the management bringing in live performers and entertainment. but the staff needs a whole upturn in order for this place to keep going.
I rolled in on a Saturday around 7:30pm before their stand up comedy show to get a quick bite and drink for before my golf bay reservation at 8:45. Was seated promptly and was waiting for a couple more in my party to arrive so I was in no rush to put in an order.... As my friends arrived i figured that was the hint to the waitress that we were ready to place an order for at least drinks.....it took until 8:15 (45 minutes after being seated to be asked for an order/drinks. All of us placed easy orders and for waters and draft beers (took 15 minutes for all of our items to arrive...the drinks were dispersed every 5 minutes).
I usually give places benefit of the doubt for being crowded or understaffed especially with todays circumstances, but I looked around and calculated that i saw ( 2 bartenders, 1 hostess, 3 waiters/waitresses/ 1-2 managers, 1-2 food runners) for a dining area that had less than 7 tables occupied with most tables only getting drinks to watch the comedy show... i have no idea what these people were doing with their time?? I made hints to the manager on staff that we were still waiting to be served, or that we could use silverware...the staff was friendly when we asked, but the staff organization was just chaos. It was not busy to be performing this bad. Servers brought wrong drinks and dishes to wrong tables alot, at this point it was if i was watching an episode of bar rescue in person. We did decide to order some lite fare, I had the nachos, they came out in a reasonable time, but I wish I had made a different decision. The portions were large , but the issue is I feel that i was eating a dish that has been sitting cold for a few hours... The tortilla bowl tasted stale as if no one wrapped up the storage bag, all the toppings and meat were room temperature, and the queso on it tasted if it was poured straight out of the great value walmart jar and plopped into the dish. I had it sent back and it was taken off the bill, but come on, this place once had great food!!!!
We finally made it over to the bay, where we tried to play our games, and the simulator seemed to be on the fritz or need calibrating because alot of the shots did not register (Ive been here several times before so I understood the game play.)...it could be us messing it up, but by this point i was frustrated and just figured to push through the hour of bay rental and listen to the subpar comedians give it their best...
I hope the team here picks it up because this place once had greatness, now it seems to be trying to entertain too much rather than focus on quality control. If I was Jon taffer I would have been raising my voice during this night out and yelling ----"shut it down". Someone needs to revolutionize...
Read moreI visited Revelation Golf and Grille on January 25, 2025 and was shocked to be denied access with my husbands service dog, despite federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) clearly allowing service dogs in all public areas. They separated him from his service dog while he played golf- which made my husband at risk. I explained the law to staff, but they refused to allow my service dog in the golf area.
This was not only frustrating but also discriminatory. Service dogs are essential for people with disabilities, and businesses are legally obligated to accommodate them.
My husband requires a service dog due to seizures and his dog is trained to alert and respond to his disability. Without my husband’s dog, he is at risk to be harmed and this establishment separated him from his service animal. I guarantee that they would not ask somebody in their wheelchair to leave their wheelchair behind, yet they asked him to leave his dog behind, which is essential to his medical care. His dog was completely obedient the whole time (in laying down position) which gave the owner no reason to deny access to the golf area. There were young children running around in the golf area that were at risk for getting hit with a golf club than my husband service animal was.
Under the ADA, he is protected from any questions and is allowed to have his dog with him at all times other than a sterile environment. The manager asked for documentation when I made a big deal about him being separated - which she is not legally allowed to do.
Under the Virginia Code (§ 51.5-44), individuals who are training service dogs have the right to access public accommodations (e.g., restaurants, stores, and public transportation). They must ensure the dog is under control at all times. This law applies to service dogs that are being trained to assist individuals with disabilities, such as guiding those with visual impairments, alerting individuals, or aiding those with mobility challenges.
I hope Revelation Golf and Grille will take steps to educate their staff about ADA compliance to prevent this from happening to others. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend this establishment to individuals with disabilities or service animals. We will be contacting the Department of Justice, BBB, and news outlets to let them know of this discriminatory action. We pray that Revelation Golf has a revelation that they are completely not in compliance and we pray that they make the necessary changes so that all individuals, despite their disability can feel comfortable in their...
Read moreArrived on Fri night @ 5ish with a total of 10 of us. Waited for 1.5 to 2 hours for the "first come golf booth (#4)" while waiting, we all had drinks/food. That being said, we had drinks/food when the waitress actually made time for us. She was a 1 out of 5 stars in regards to service. Food came out at different times, though it was all ordered at the same time. The food was decent, nothing to get excited about.
We get into the booth (or whatever they call those things to play fake golf) and about 45 mins into it, we are told we have 15 minutes left because there was a reservation. I understand reservations, I get that there was one. What I don't get is that you had paying customers in there. It was the "first come area (we informed them that we wanted a "booth" for 2 to 3 hours before they put us in one). Why they even took a reservation for that area is the real question. That aside, I can only imagine that it was due to several booths that were taken because of a private event, so I can try to understand and get over that aspect. Here is the kicker though. We vacate the booth as requested and are at the table (there were only 4 if us playing so 6 people were still at the table ordering drinks and talking). I go outside and get a text from my wife that we need to pay. I come back in and ask I her if we were leaving (we were not talking about leaving, we were going to order more drinks and try to get BACK on the first come/walk-in list). She informs me that the waitress dropped the checks and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. She just dropped the checks and said she'll be back to pick them up. We felt like we were being kicked out, so we paid and left. Another establishment in Williamsburg benefited from this because they received our business instead.
So, in short: It's loud, the waitstaff don't seem to care, and all in all we didn't enjoy it. The ONLY person working there that seemed like they cared at all was the manager, he brought most of our items (drink/food) to us. We didn't say a word before we left because it really wasn't worth the effort for this mediocre establishment. We will not be returning on our own if the decision for future group outings is up to us. 1 star is all I can muster...
