My wife and I visited this amazing resturants twice whilst on vacation. We were very pleased with the service and professionalism. My wife is pescatarian so she was all good. They had several options for her. I'm 100% vegan and there aren't many vegan options in the area. Even at resturants were the menu says vegan friendly I've found that not all of the ingredients being used are fully vegan friendly. It can get sort of tricky trying to piece together a vegan friendly meal at non vegan resturants. The first night we visited I was lucky enough to have a waitress on staff that had been vegan. She was well versed in the menu and my options being sure to tell me if rice had chicken stock or bread had milk or egg. Whatever she wasn't sure of she was patient and willing to ask the cook. They didn't have anything completely vegan friendly but she was able to have them whip me up the amazing jackfruit flatbread pizza. Pictures will be inserted below. It was huge for the price, delicious, and filling. She also got the bartender to check all the vegan safe syrup options so that I would be able to have a tipsy Chai latte. I was extremely pleased. So we visited again. I really wanted to try the banana and granola toast but found our the granola had honey and the bread wasn't vegan friendly. This visit started out very disappointing but I'm a determined vegan. I'm always willing to work with the cook to educate and achieve success for my tummy. The cook this night was Dave and he was exceptional. Our waiter was also amazing he kept going to the kitchen asking questions for me and working with me to find something I could eat. He was patient and polite despite the large party they were also waiting on this night. Dave the cook was understanding and went above and beyond to make sure I could eat. He looked up ingredients, he reached out to higher management who checked the packing labels, he even showed me the seasoning labels. I was far beyond impressed. When it was all said and done he created a 100% vegan safe saffron rice with walnut tacos for me. Man was it delicious. I was even able to get another tispy latte and the bartenders were so patient and helpful. They even offered to whip me up another type of vegan safe latte. My only suggestions are to add a fully vegan friendly flour taco shell option instead of the corn and a sweet bbq sauce for a more savory flavor. Also add these 2 options to the menu permanently for future 100% vegans. I will definitely...
Read moreYoung lady that knows me and my wife's order always was working. She had my order ready, I added the apple cinnamon spice and it took some time for it to be ready because they were very busy. Food was good and service was good. Picked up our food and did carryout. I learned from a customer waiting at the door that Tipsy Beans is expanding. I asked the young lady employee about the expansion and she said that they are breaking down the wall behind the bar and expanding that way. So happy for them.
5 months ago, my review was as follows:
Gone are the days of pleasant order and pick-up at the counter. Did not like my last visit and the facial expressions by those behind the counter when I kept asking questions about what was in the bag? Are there utensils in the bag, can I have 2 more utensils since there is 4 of us in our family, is ketchup in the bag?
Usually when I pickup, there is one young lady that always know that I am coming to pickup the order in my wife's name and I usually come in every 6 months. Her memory was amazing! Did not see her when I picked up my food, so pickup took longer because they had to confirm my order.
Food was good but please keep the smiles coming when I pickup and ask questions about what is in the bag.
10 months prior, This is our preference for breakfast whenever we are in Williamsburg. The food is usually ready between 10 to 15 minutes and when we arrive, food is ready to be picked up and they usually make the hot chai tea upon arrival.
2 years prior, our first few times that we picked up food from this restaurant. See below.
This place is located beside the movie theater on/in the high street shipping area of Williamsburg. We called to place our order, went I side to pickup order and the food was delicious. Black bean burger, pizza, BBQ flatbread, kids meal chicken tenders and chocolate cake were all good! Highly recommend!
2nd visit took a little longer. Decided to try their breakfast. As we approached the restaurant, we recognized a lot of people outside the restaurant and their hostess and or curbside pickup desk outside the restaurant. Placed order at curbside pickup desk, waited in our vehicle at least 15 minutes and then picked up food at curbside pickup desk. Breakfast was okay, grits was not the best.
3rd visit, we decided to try the crab cake dinner. It was okay. We also had creamy spinach and that tasted...
Read moreMy friend and I went to Tipsy Beans Cafe for brunch on a Saturday morning. From the beginning the host staff was rude. They quoted us an hour and a half wait and when we came to be seated, they wouldn't let my friend sit down unless our whole party was present (even though I was outside parking the car). When I walked in we still had to wait to be seated. The food and our actual server was amazing (this is why I continue to come back to eat here). Once me and my friend had paid, around 15 minutes later, a host (I think her name is Holly) came up to us and asked us to get up because she was on an hour and a half wait. I explained that it was completely inappropriate for her to ask us to get up from our table (I had been a host at Olive Garden for 3 years so I know how these things go). The host acknowledged that it was inappropriate but the place is so small and they are really busy on Saturdays but they are looking to expand so hopefully she will never have to tell us to get up again. Me and my friend graciously got up, but don't think we'll be eating here again, which is a shame because every time I have friends and family in town, I always make sure to take them here. If you only want people to sit for a set amount of time, you should probably advertise that initially. I also didn't see this host going around to other tables and telling them to get up... I felt very rushed and was unable to enjoy my experience for this reason. This left a bad taste in my mouth and most likely will not be back for a while. (Also, my friend and I both tipped over 20%). Please work on y’all’s customer service because you are driving...
