Stay stay stay away horrible company once you sign on the dotted line. This has been the absolute worst experience. To start they put the house in the wrong spot with me there showing them multiple where it was supposed to go. Next they poured the concrete footers over top of top soil instead of going down to clay like is supposed to be done. When you call around and try and figure out who okd it you find out no inspector ever lays eyes on it they send pictures of a concrete footer to a state inspector who rubber stamp approves it without ever putting eyes on it himself that inspector told me don't worry it's a new house under warranty the warranty is for 1yr laughable. My house has been sitting for over 5 months still not move in ready with little to no communication the front and side door leaked water for months before they would do anything and all they did was fix the door no mold check just painted over it for the 2nd time before they did the drywall repairs so now they have to go back patch cracks and paint for a 3rd time. There are so many issues with this house way to many to list just know they will blame the manufacturer for everything I have trim hanging off walls to the point I can fit my whole hand between the trim and the drywall and touch neither. They have 2 construction workers who are very rude the rest of their work is sub contracted out good luck getting anything done your constantly relaying what's wrong to someone new no one person keeps everything documented. They will dodge your calls for weeks we called for 3 weeks for the gm we were told everytime he's on the lot or in a meeting until we finally contacted corporate who is little no help we were told they were in training so that's why the gm couldn't return a call. We currently have 3 open claims against them through corporate who tells you they can't get them to respond to them. Our first payment was due over a month ago we had the gm promise us he would take care of it we wouldn't pay a dime until it was move in ready the 2nd payment was marked late yesterday nothings been done. I do not understand how this business is allowed to stay open as there are many customers with the same exact complaints I highly recommend anyone considering a manufacturered home to steer clear of clayton of...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. My fiances disabled 77 yr old dad bought a small 2 bedroom trailer from here to be put on our property. The property was 100% cleared and already had a septic drain field -- all they had to have done was the trailer delivered and set up and septic dug and laid to connect to drain field, plus the other typical trailer set up needs such as HVAC connection, utility connection, etc. Otherwise, there was no significant site ready needs -- the property was clear and ready. He paid CASH for his trailer in July 2024. His trailer was delivered 2-3 months ago and it still isn't ready for him to live in. The block foundation looks very crooked, wasn't laid correctly. The vinyl siding is jacked up. Doors not flush and wouldn't close. Whoever they had to install the septic screwed up and installed it 5 feet too close to our neighbors property...well they didn't tell us til 3 weeks after the fact and then told us that WE need to send an email to the state of TN asking for a variance for their mess up, when we didn't even know what the hell that meant. Finally, my fiance called Clayton corporate and we were finally told that the folks there at Williamsburg Clayton totally dropped the ball; they should have requested the variance before digging the septic, but since they didn't, they would need to re-dig the septic to bring it back 5 feet from the neighbors property. Which they didn't want to do because it costs them extra money!!!!!!!! Their mess up would cost THEM extra money ---- go figure! After he made that call to corporate, things immediately started rolling again. He made the corporate call on a Thursday & by Monday the septic was re-dug and ready to be used. At this point, we are just waiting for the utilities to be turned on. But what a terrible experience it has been. No one knows anything, they all blame everyone else. The unprofessionalism, the lack of accountability is astounding. The whole office including sales team, project managers, etc should be fired as they do not do a good job at running business in that office, judging by previous poor reviews. If they were my employees, they would be gone....
Read moreMy husband Chris and I went there back in April, went straight to the office and told them what our budget was and that we didn't want to get out of that range. Dewayne told us what would work with our budget so we found a few we liked and applied for a loan on them on a Friday. By Tuesday we had our approval letter and were happy with what we had been offered. We went down to Williamsburg on April 28th and took ALL of the information needed by the mortgage company, 2 months worth of check stubs, deeds and left a deposite which we should have never left because the price of the home we wanted had went up $5,000 but we decided to go ahead. We get a call that Monday saying they needed the check stubs from the Friday that we took all of the information, no big deal I emailed them to the girl and she confirmed she got them. My husband had told dewayne that he wanted our property looked at to make sure everything would work out and we wouldn't have any additional costs, he said that was fine and he would have someone there within the next 2-3 weeks....it had been 4 weeks and we had yet to hear from them so my husband called to touch base and when dewayne got on the phone he acted like he had no idea what we were talking about. Then it was about 3 weeks later the receptionist lady called while we were at work and left a voicemail asking if we were still interested in purchasing a home and why we hadn't proceeded. He called her back and She told him that they needed check stubs and deeds and all of the papers we had left them over a month ago. At this point we realized that our business with them would be a mistake, we started this process and it was 2 months before they even attempted to look at our property! Best part of this whole situation my husband called to request our deposit, dewayne was the guy who answered which is who we had been working with and he asked who our salesman was!!!! He never asked why we wanted our deposite back or why we weren't buying there. Please take your business elsewhere! We will be buying the exact home we wanted for 5,000 cheaper with...
