PLEASE BEWARE ALL THE RECENT 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE AFTER THE FIRE BY PEOPLE WHO NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS. THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE! Last year their rating was a deserved 2.7. Instead of making improvements that actually matter, they are trying to pad their rating with fake or bought reviews.
Pros: dog friendly Cons:
Office staff are renting to friends or family who can bypass the application process which leaves you with people who do not care about rules, the property, or fellow neighbors making this place feel very trashy.
Despite being a transfer (I had to both reapply and repay all application fees for this process) and already having access to the online resident portal I'm no longer able to pay rent or see anything I was able to previously and no one in the office wanted to or was able to help. Then after waiting for 9 months for someone to come fix my kitchen faucet that fell apart it was finally fixed. Normally I would have submitted a request in the resident portal but guess who still doesn't have access. Also I was sent an email regarding my lease renewal and to view it I had to...log into the resident portal 🤦🏼♀️ 2 YEARS LATER STILL.
Last time I was at the gym I had to restart every elliptical because none were working. That only fixed 3 out of the 8.
The pools are no deeper than 4 feet so in no way are they "adult". And there's a third one that never opens so it's just a covered eyesore. They could fill it in and allow the attached clubhouse to be rented for parties but they haven't allowed that since TGM bought it. Just be aware that any "upgrade" they claim is just cosmetic. They hire bottom of the barrel contractors to do extra work and they leave their trash behind.
My friend lived here for 2 years and never had hot water in her kitchen. The final straw for her was when they drastically raised her rent and she asked if they were going to finally fix her hot water and they flat out told her no.
I lived in one of the 2 bedrooms for 2 years and in that time my rent increased $450. Despite the fact that it is ridiculously expensive I stupidly decided to stay here but move into a one bedroom. The counter space in the kitchen is slightly better than my 2 bedroom but means little when there is no pantry. I had to hang a rack on my wall just to have a place for my dry goods. The counters are cheap imitation granite not the real thing. My electrician uncle says the light switches are the dumbest things he's ever seen. They're made to just cover the old switches instead of putting in updated ones (as you'd expect from "luxury apartment living".) There is zero insulation in the outside walls and the windows are either poorly installed or very old so the winters are extremely cold and hanging plastic or any other preventative measure is the "tenants responsibility." I am listening to my blinds rattle from the wind coming thru my CLOSED patio door as i write this on the coldest day of winter. Every other unit on the first floor in my building (judging by the noise from upstairs the 2nd floor too) has laminate floors except mine which they'd probably charge for. The building buzzer is broken and they refuse to fix it. I have missed multiple deliveries due to this. With the dead cicadas smelling like rotting carcasses do you think they washed the hallway carpets? Lol no.
A previous reviewer said they stop caring once the lease is signed and boy is that true. Back when this place was Ascot Glen and The Oaks, it was absolutely one of the best places to live in the area. Ever since TGM took over it has gone downhill fast.
Of course none of this is a huge deal but you should expect more of a place calling themselves "luxury apartment living" and have the nerve to charge $1900+ a month in rent for a one bedroom. Also the $500 "resident referral" they make you jump through so many hoops so that you eventually forget or give up. In fact i don't think they even offer this anymore because they know it's bull and no one besides friends or family of the office is actually...
Read more"Following a house fire at the end of May, and despite reaching out to the management company at TGM Willowbrook for assistance, I did not receive any support. Regrettably, it has come to my attention, through communication with multiple neighbors, that there have been reports of bed bug bites among residents. This has been a challenging experience, considering the circumstances of losing everything in the fire." If I could help anyone I will. I’m sorry that management will not help you guys. Prayers god wanted me out of there sooner then later.
Sounds awful.

I wanted to make sure I added onto the same review. You want me to come into the leasing office or contact leasing office because I have a whole list of phone records. As well, one of the leasing office women telling me they’re not going to speak to me after you guys served me an eviction notice on a Friday afternoon telling me I can get my stuff from 9 AM to 5 PM. And I had to get a tendants rights lawyer just to get my fish out, which was already dead after 40 days my stuff that was my father that had passed on disintegrated because it was left in seeping fire extinguishing water because you guys wouldn’t let me in there now you want me to go in the leasing office for what sorry. That is just unapologetic and inhumane. I don’t know where you ladies get off and I don’t know who to trust. And this review Google public documents is not slander entrapment in any way I best believe follow every single lovely rule that you guys have set for me. Thank you for ruining all my stuff. Thank you for having the maintenance man there two days before the fire to check if everything was OK and it was not. I had to beg nine emails later just for you to respond to my lawyer after the fire department said it was OK to go in. The police department said it was OK to go in and the leasing office said it was not OK to go in. Tell me you’re not trying to cover up anything and everything and now you want me to contact the leasing office for what to go to voicemail and then the voicemail to be full and I know I’m not the only one in the apartment units that feels this way because you ladies aren’t so popular
I lost everything I ever owned including baby pictures. My dad was only passed on for only maybe a year and 28 days. It’s been 77 days since the fire now one person from TGM has reached out to me made sure that I was placed anywhere else because the fire is still undecided and alsosince the fire is undecided, TGM Willowbrook is supposed to help me or at least give me back my...
Read moreI moved out of TGM 9 months ago. I've been waiting to write my review until I've calmed down a bit. If I had written my review upon moving out it would have been a string of expletives.
First of all, DO NOT MOVE HERE, DO NOT LIVE HERE, DO NOT LET YOUR WORST ENEMY LIVE HERE.
The place is absolutely infested with ants. Everywhere. Ants in bed, ants in the sink, ants crawling on the couch, ants in my kid's sippee cup. Everywhere. BITING FIRE ANTS. At first we tried putting out ant traps. That worked temporarily. Then we called the office. They came and sprayed. The ants got worse. We called and told them the ants were worse. They said they can't spray again so we put out more traps. The ants persisted. I was pissed because I had a two year old son and didn't want to live in a house full of chemicals and ants.
Next: This place is SO EXPENSIVE. Right now I am renting a 4 bedroom house for LESS than I paid to live at TGM.
Next: You have to give 60 days notice before you move out, even if you do not plan to renew your lease. A few months before our lease was up they left us a friendly reminder note saying that we had 60 days to notify. So we notified them. Then they called and said we didn't give them enough notice. They said that THEY made a typo and that due to THEIR typo - OOPS! - we actually didn't notify them in time and that we were going to have to pay for an entire additional month's rent - $1600 - after we moved out. Clearly their fault but they didn't care. I went to the office to try and explain the situation to the manager figuring that maybe she might be an actual human person and be understanding of THEIR mistake. She wanted nothing to do with me and just kept telling me she'd send me to collections and that my credit was about to be ruined. I told her there was no way I was paying an extra $1600 for an ant infested apartment that I wasn't living in due to THEIR typo. They couldn't care less.
So I moved out January 31st. Sometime in February they sent me to collections for not paying February rent EVEN THOUGH I MOVED OUT ON JANUARY 31. They sent me to collections for $1600.
I'm still completely in shock at the shittiness of this entire situation and robot-like nature of...
