Donât get me wrong. I love Costco.! Admittedly , Iâm also a member of Samâs warehouse. And I hate to compare the two because there is distinct differences but , I will have to give kudos to Samâs for their store entering and checking out with their âscan and goâ technology. I am sick, sick to death of now not only show my card when I walk in the door, but having to scan it as well! Are you that worried that somebody is going to use someone elseâs card that youâre going to lose money when theyâre actually buying your product? I get it I pay dearly for my membership but for whatever brainiac reason the powers that be-decided to switch the self checkout from left to right from where it was. Putting it on the right side of the store where there is no direct route to it because youâre backed up to the nut section appropriately. People are majorly confused where the line begins and ends feeding from both the left and right in a very narrow path. And once again, another common complaint is having to count whatâs in your cart when exiting with constant bottlenecking from the door all the way back to where the cash registers are. For what we pay for our membership (I am an executive member) youâd think Convenience would be part of your program, but just the opposite Is the result. Itâs like what can we do to confuse the older customers to the point walking in circles as if they needed help with confusion anyway. . I donât know what you need to do and again I hate to give Samâs a nod but their technology puts your customers in the most counterproductive mode possible! Samâs are killing you on customer relations, and convenience !!! Costco needs to get with program because it is a royal pain in the arse!!! Don A King Wilmington,...
Read moreI decided not to renew my membership with Samâs because of their views on Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I was missing out on a totally unmatched pleasant experience at Costco. On my first visit to get my membership, I became ill, and I did not want EMS called because I was recently released from the hospital and I had every thing I needed, I just needed to sit down and use my inhaler. Well everyone was very attentive to me, especially a manager by the name of âLoâ who swiftly went into action showing me how to use my inhaler properly setting the timer on her phone for my next shot of medicine, staying close be me, making sure I was okay, others even brought me water, and amazing customer service to others did not stop. It was beautiful to witness as I was recovering on the expertly located beaches next to the customer service desk. I thought that as soon as I felt well enough I was headed for my car in one of those riding buggies, but when I felt better and âLoâ gave me a quick lesson because I was hesitant about using it. She was right it was easy. I decided to get the few things I came for. I have since been back several times and I always have a feel good experience in there at Costco in Wilmington NC, you get 2 thumbs up from me. And Ms Lo you get The Employee Excellence Award. Btw she also represented Costco with pride, and never said one cross word about her fellow employees or the company. I thought you should know if you donât already know, what a beautiful person and a treasure she is to your organization. Donât stop Costco, now I know why your parking lot is always full. Excellent...

For the past couple years, I have always stopped at Costco for the giant bulk bags of dog food that my pitbull rescues LOVE! In fact they don't want any other dog food (and trust me. I've tried to give them some substitutes). The night prior my mother gave me her Costco card to use to get the dog food I have been purchasing our pets for a while now. It was for me to stop at the warehouse after school and work too. As I greet the lady in the front, she tells me to scan the barcode (never done that before. I like the human contact) which I do. As I proceed, she squawks at me saying I can't enter. "That's not you" as I try to walk away. I mention how it is my mother, because we have the same last name and jaw line. She insists I can't enter, and I must talk with the upfront people. I always deal with the people at the register during this process, in which I use a different card to pay for the dogfood. I always use my credit card. With the same last name.
This Costco trip was quickly halted by this gentleman who explained they do everything by the rules in which their rules have clearly not been applied for the past couple months since I have been buying my dogfood for a long time now. lf my mom wasn't shaping this next generation (NHCS teacher) I'm sure that she could stop by after class but the task is always panned on me. Until today. My dogs are now giving me the sad puppy dog eyes because they were dissatisfied with their Walmart dinner and eggs. Quite dissatisfied considering our past. I thought we had something special...
