Let me start by saying I'm absolutely a wig rookie. I bought a couple of cheap used wigs from a friend, then one I thought would be better (and wasn't) from Paula Young Wigs. I finally realized I needed on-site help not on-line...that's when I found U.S. Wigs. Their reviews were awesome so, even though I had to drive all the way across town, I had to check them out. So off I went. Parking there can be a little difficult as its right across the street from the Boulevard Mall and right up the street from UNLV but not impossible. This is NOT a Beauty Supply Store, ladies. Its strictly wigs. I liked that a lot. Its entirely family owned and operated...another good thing, as long as you're compatible with at least one member of the family...Kay, Kim or Matt, all with distinctly different personality types...yet another good thing, lol. I bought 2 wigs my first trip there. One long one and one shorter shoulder length one, both in the same blondish streaked color. I really wanted something more age appropriate (age-65) like a grey shade but Momma Kay was adamant that it wouldn't look right on me and the color she chose really did look great so I went with it. But I have to admit it bothered me. I WANTED that beautiful slate grey color. Soooo, several weeks later I drum up my courage, drive back down to have them trim the bangs on the two I already bought...which they do for Free, BTW, yep free! I tried on that beautiful slate grey wig I'd had my eye on and OMG! did it look absolutely horrendous !!! Mamma Kay was spot on! So I bought a very short silver grey one for more than BOTH my other two combined but Mamma Kay says the fibers are better and it'll last for years. Unfortunately, she also told me the first time I came in that very short wigs weren't a good idea for me with my long hair but Vegas summers are SO hot (120°) and I NEED a short wig so I did it anyway. Now I'm going to take it back in and see if there's anything that can be done to correct my stupidity because the darn thing seems to shift on my head and my shorthairs keep crawling out exposing the fact that I'm wearing a wig and I KNOW she tried to warn me... The moral is that you can have the best product and most knowledgeable people (which I believe U.S. Wigs & Family to be) but if you don't listen to them, you might as well buy blind off...
Read moreI was so happy with the hair topper I got there ! Because they have a huge range of variety , the owner found the perfect match to cover up my thin frizzy hair . I appreciated that this is a family owned business so the help I get is from people who care about their customers satisfaction. The topper was synthetic hair , it wasn't cheap -- but it looked fantastic! I needed something to throw on my head when I go to work so I don't look like I slept in a cave . I also appreciated their honesty . I was thinking about settling for something that wasn't perfect and he said " this is too long for you" . He dug around to find the right length and color and found it stowed in their huge inventory . I've been there twice and super happy with the attentive knowledgeable service & product. He also gave me exact instructions on how to take care of my fabulous fake hair -- so this will be my go to place when my hair refuses...
Read moreI took my grandmother to this shop while she was visiting me from WI because she wanted to get a wig before she started loosing her hair from her medical condition. The gentleman at the shop was so amazing and he really helped her find a wig that made her not only very happy but smile. I was personally so happy with their service and how absolutely kind they were to her! He even gave her his information so she could call him anytime if she had questions and even offered to ship her order to her in WI since she had to travel light on her way back home. 100% satisfied and I almost cried seeing my grandmother so happy with a wig that looked amazing on her! I absolutely recommend going here for great wigs and amazing service! Thank you again for making my grandmother's...
