Wild Things — Local services in Winchester

This is a very cool store if you are into reptiles, especially pythons and boas. I stopped just for some tortoise food, but ended up spending at least a half hour looking around. Im guessing the ones working (Sunday 4/17) were the owners. The lady was very friendly and welcoming and the gentleman was quiet at first (NOT rude like previous reviews suggest). When I asked about the baby boas, he was very informative. He told me how he hatched them, explained the different variations and did not hesitate to open the containers for a closer look. They have a large variation of special/fancy ball pythons, bearded dragons, monitors and lots more! Even some baby tortoises that reminded me how little mine once was! The prices of the reptiles all seemed very fair, even cheap compared to what I’ve seen at shows out east. The cages (terrariums) and supplies were a little pricey, but that was kind of expected given they carry stuff you would not find for your reptile at a normal pet store. The first time I heard about wild things was at the last reptile expo here in Vegas I bought this cool Pokémon hand made decor the lady (I forgot her name :( ) was super nice when I let her at the expo. I bought a gecko that day and wanted to go to her shop for things for my gecko first time I went a man helped me he was friendly and gave me a lot of info that was good to know I appreciate that he was honest and told me what I need and don’t need he could have easily made me buy more than what I needed and spend more money. I went the second time to get worms for my gecko this time the lady helped me and she was very friendly. There is a much closer reptile store near me they are nice but the environment at wild things is much more chill and welcoming I don’t mind the extra time driving over to wild things and they have the cutest security guard idk what bread the dog is a.k.a the security guard lol just cool to see a dog in the store while shopping. Came to look for pet rats. He said I can look into one bin, he said (husband) I told him there too big bc the ones I have are smaller. Showed me a different bin. I asked sorry I thought u said they weren’t for sale? He said yea they are for sale. Felt alot of distrust. I wasn’t happy about just looking into 2 bins only. Not coming back here again it’s just not a good experience. I’m sure other ppl looked into all bins… pretty sure I have 2 sick ones I’m not sure if I can nurse back to health. Disappointing 1 healthy one I liked

He showed me the larger ones first then the smalls next when I said that size is too big. That’s when I felt the bad experience why didn’t he show me the smalls first? Im not going to come in and argue in person just not coming back thanks have a good day.

I also had a talk with someone who did look at all of your bins so that’s why I don’t believe you. Rats grow fast you don’t know if you’re missing one...
