Great Buns Bakery — Restaurant in Winchester

Well, this used to be our ‘go-to’ place for bread, bagels, specialty cookies, etc. After being away for a few months we headed right to Great Buns and boy were we disappointed. They have definitely had some changes in staff, but it felt like management also. I have never dealt with anyone rude there until the ladies on the day I went to pick up my order. No conistency in the bagels, some small diameter but super thick, others thin or uneven, with hole sizes varying from ½” to over an inch. That made some good, some chewy, and some dry. I ordered a loaf of bread cut to a special thickness (that they actually marked incorrectly) but my point is that they tried to sell me a FROZEN loaf, saying they had it in the freezer and could cut it however I wanted. I declined as I go to a bakery for FRESH BAKED goods, NOT FROZEN. When I returned to pick up my order I went directly to the register with the yellow copy of my order form. Two women were at the register talking (in Spanish) about something about prices and 5 minutes after I started timing my wait, one looked at me and the paper, and then asked what I wanted. Seriously? They should know the yellow form, but I told her I was there to pick up an order. She rudely said ‘go to counter.’ What counter? The girl who took my order had not said anything about a counter. I had always picked my orders up at the register. The woman just motioned to the back. No inidcation of where to pick up orders and nobody standing there, so I went to the most likely ‘counter’ and waited..again. Now, I was late in picking up the bread I had ordered and it was gone, so AGAIN they said that they could take one out of the FREEZER for me. Duh, I didn’t buy one the other day, why would I buy one now? I felt bad for the man that was trying to help me because he was running back and forth getting told what to tell me by the woman who was his boss instead of her just talking directly to me when she knew it was me that he was working with. I will never ever place an order again. HOW WILL I KNOW…until it is too late…IF THE BREAD IS FRESH OR FROZEN? The search is on for another bakery. Adieu Great Buns. It was fun...

Como para ir a comprar y comer si es un buen lugar hay muchas variedades y todas deliciosas pero para buscar trabajo es el lugar mas pésimo donde alguien pueda trabajar lo.digo por experiencia propia los supervisores son buenas personas y son buenos haciendo su trabaja excepto uno el supervisor elvis ya que por causa de su esposa la compañera Diana que es la Li de la mesa parece que le cai mal a ella donde habiendo mas trabajadoras siempre me mandaba hacer los trabajo mas fuertes donde cada ves que hacia falta alguien para el caracol solo me mandaba a mi habiendo varios trabajadores he incluso hasta su prima que entro nueva junto conmigo nunca la mando hacer ese tipo de trabajo tenia favoritismo pork a los trabajos pesados nunca la mandaba claro pork era su prima tambien donde teniamos que barrer todas me dejaba a mi abusando de su poder tambien desde que entre me mandaban todos los supervisores me cambiaron el horario y los dias de descanso 4 veces hasta que para evitar buscarme problemas le dije a uno de los supervisores que me diera el horario en un papel luego la compañera Diana me lo arrebato el papel en mala forma de la mano diciendo que quien me habia dado eso le dije que el supervisor. Y ella me dijo que quien me habia mandado que no hiba a descansar los dias que me habian dado sino los que ella me ponia haciendo caso a los supervisores me tome el lunes pork eran los dias de descanso k me habian dado y al final solo cogí el lunes pork me tuve que incorporar el marte nada mas que llegue la Li Diana me hablo en mala forma sin dejar que le explicara y me dijo que estaba de castigo le dije esta bien no hay problemas de ahi me dejaron trabajar 5 horas y pork necesitaban mandar alguien para el trabajo pesado luego cuando ya estaba terminando el trabajo entonces el manager elvis me cito para la oficina siendo el esposo de diana la Li. Y. me saco del trabajo segun el.pork la compañia ya no necesitaba de mi servicio que era mandado con nombre y todo y le dije que me disculpara que no era la compañía que era por su esposa que lo habia mandado a k me sacara ahora hago la pregunta es justo que por una persona a la cual no le cai bien despidan a personas que tienes buenas intenciones para trabajar y el manager Elvis solo vele el bienestar de su esposa en ves de el de sus trabajadores aparte que tengo entendido que por ley las parejas no pueden trabajar juntos ni familia pork La Li Diana es la mujer de Elvis y aparte tiene a su prima ahi trabajando tambien espero que todo mejore en esa panaderia con los trabajadores pork lo que se necesita es el bienestar y el crecimiento de la empresa no el bienestar de una Li de la mesa que no es ni tan siquiera una manager general hay personas adentro de ese panaderia con mejor forma para ser una Li de mesa que para mandar no grita ni nada tiene la forma que debe tener un manager respeto caracter y sobreto sabe guiar a los trabajadores sin gritar ni maltratar la compañera Erica puede ser una de las mejores lis. Por eso le digo a usted con el mayor respeto señora Devora usted que es la jefa principal de esa panadería que vele por el bienestar de sus trabajadores de las personas que llegan con el buen espíritu de trabajar para que su panadería siga saliendo adelante como siempre pensé que era una jefa justa pero ni tan siquiera me dejo explicarle bien sólo me dio esa respuesta DEBO DE CREERLE A EL PORQUE PARA ESO EL ESTA AQUI NO SE SI ES VERDAD PORK NO ESTOY AQUI TODO EL TIEMPO como.jefa y veladora de sus empleados que son los que ayudan a que su negocio salga adelante pork no se fija en las cámara a ver en que momento he hablado o le.he dirigido la palabra a los supervisores pork con la única que he hablado a sido con la compañera Diana con nadie mas por eso le.dijo que no le gustaba mi forma pork no tenía motivos ninguno para despedirme y no le diria que su esposa Diana no me.queria ahi pero por lo que veo entonces quiere decir que el dia de mañana Elvis hace cualquier cosa con sus trabajadores y aunk sea injusto usted le da la razon sin tan siquiera ver si es verdad o...

Yuck. Purchased individually wrapped cinnamon rolls thinking they were one price, only to find out they were another after I paid. Price I thought they were (that was posted), apparently went to the item above it. The price for the individually wrapped ones I chose was missing, hence the confusion. That being said the overpriced cinnamon rolls were old and chewy. When you tried to bite into one, the frosting crumbled/flaked off. Cannoli, purchased two = Chewy and the filling had the texture and taste of lard. Cannoli should be flaky and crisp (since they are supposed to be fried) with an airy and light sweet filling. Cream Puff, purchased two = Hard chewy dough, the filling again was very very dense - definitely not a puff. Pastry in general should be light and flaky with whipped fluffy filling. Very disappointed. The cannolis and cream puffs had the texture that sometimes happens when you freeze something and dethaw at a much later date, making them rubbery, chewy, and hard. $20 down the drain because they were all so awful they had to be thrown away - not edible. Would not recommend and will not be going back. Given that I tried three separate items from their menu, you would think at least one might have been acceptable. Very troubling because I thought all the ratings given to this place were true. ...
