NEVER AGAIN!!! WE'RE DONE. Chapalas was a traditional in our family. WAS. . . In addition to regular patronage, Thanksgiving Eve and the eve of Christmas eve we'd have Chapalas. Practically every milestone, we'd go there. We have gone there at the old location over 20 years ago. WE WERE LONG L-O-N-G TERM customers. Last night we ordered two combo plates and chips and salsa to go. Six bucks for chips and salsa to go is a lot. Our food was just so so. The chips? A quarter of a paper lunch bag of chips that were WAY over-cooked and five tiny containers of salsa. Oh HELL NO!!! Chapalas, you wont see us again. You cheated us by supplying a very small amount of overcooked chips that you probably cooked TWICE with an insult of tiny-winy to-go containers that hold a few teaspoons each. Your haste and greed say it all: you don't want our business anymore. FINE!! We will take our dollars elsewhere. We could NEVER recommend you again.

CHAPALA is a town in Jalisco, Mexico. Not many restaurants in Las Vegas serve their particular dishes. I came here hoping to find a unique experience to most Mexican dining. I am very pleased to say I had a better experience than expected. From the cleanliness, to great customer service, to well proportioned dishes and amazing prices. The background traditional Mexican music was just right. A "home away from home" pleasant ambience! I forgot to ask if they serve home made tortillas. That would have been a nice touch to their great menu. It is located near Pecos and Tropicana SW plaza. I will definitely return.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. AWFUL. Over priced and the food is below quality. You're better of buying a can of refried beans and boiling some spanish rice. As for the "carne asada" it is low quality meat from your local discount market. I was actually shocked. The waiter did not even bother to ask how my food was. I got the carne asada plate 2 tacos rice and beans for $21. I left after eating one taco... I was so hungry and on my way to work with no time to stop elsewhere. I would also like to note that I was the only one in the restraunt.... now it makes sense!

I haven't been there for a long time because I was told by the woman in the bar, maybe the owner's wife, to never come back and they kicked me out. I used to go almost every day and spend a lot of money. Then this guy, who was apparently connected to the woman in the bar, came up to my table and wouldn't even let me finish the drink I ordered, nor get my order before ordering me to get out. I was shown a less than 100% positive review of the restaurant that I tried to explain wasn't mine. Apparently someone had hacked my account and even though I had left a very positive review on their site about two weeks previously, they thought I had made a negative comment about Cinco de Mayo and the fact that they didn't have any specials that day. It did no good to try to make them understand that I didn't make that negative comment. If this establishment has such apparent snowflakes, with no proof that it was me, and cannot handle a less than 100% positive review, who the hell needs to go there? Besides, the margaritas are definitely not the best in town, and who loads their tacos with huge chunks of carrots, potatoes and bell peppers for fillers? If they want to be jerks, bring it on! There's a whole lot better Mexican restaurants around here that have friendly staff, with no drama, delicious food without fillers and wonderful, stronger margaritas...

My family's experience was pretty terrible and won't go back. They immediately brought chips and salsa and then no one came back for 10 minutes. We ordered guacamole and drinks, but by the time that was ready we had eaten all the chips, so we watched out waiter serve us a bowl of guacamole next to empty bowls of chips and then run off before we can even say anything. We think surely he must have noticed and been running back to get chips, but nope. They disappear for another 10 minutes while we stare at a bowl of guacamole. They come back to take our order and we ask for chips so we can eat our appetizer. Chips come and the guacamole is terrible. Just tasted like old warm mashed avocado. I got the signature Carne asada. Its literally just a tough piece of steak on top of beans and rice and soggy tortilla full of cheese, they forgot my salad. My mom got fajitas and we are thinking sizzling hot steamy plate of delicious fajitas, but they deliver a plate that looks very similar to my carne asada except the dry meat was cut up fajita style. My niece got chicken fingers and they forgot the dipping sauce so she ate a dry plate of chicken fingers and french fries while we tried to flag down a waiter. By the time they remembered to bring it, she was full, we all felt sick and just...

My family has been going to chapalas for over 20 years. It use to be amazing food....reason we've been going for over 20 years. Last week we ordered pick up and it wasn't that great. I thought maybe it was just a bad day. Ordered again today and.....nope it was still bad! First the girl in the front that answers phones is not friendly and has no idea what she is doing. She answers and just says hello.....nothing about where I'm calling. I had to ask if I had the right number. Then it took her forever to take my order. I only ordered 2 combination plates. It wasn't complicated. She kept repeating and asking what I wanted again and then would repeat again. This has happened twice. The first time when I picked it up she gave me my total then said "dang, that's expensive!" I don't think an employee should be saying that to a customer. The beans were sour, the enchiladas were horrible, and the albondigas were super salty! My husband is a smoker and it was even salty for him. The albondigas were also sooo greasy as well. I had to pour half of it out because the top was all grease! Not sure if they changed owners or chefs but they need to go back to the original. Sucks because this WAS our favorite place. They have lost a long time customer. Will not...
