This is a follow up to a review that I posted two years ago. I purchased a car stereo with a back up camera from Winchester Bids. Winchester Bids had made arrangements to sell a $1000 stereo with installation through their site and in return Winchester Auto Radio received $1000 in advertising. My installation was a Jeep Wrangler and very simple maybe $500 in equipment. He made at least $500 on the deal. It was not stated in the add that there was no warranty or that the product was refurbished. The stereo failed about 8 months after the installation so I took the vehicle back to W.A.R. and they removed the stereo from the dash. Pioneer has a 1 year defect warranty and they were going to work on a replacement. Weeks passed without a call back so I started calling every week or so and they would tell me they were working on it but they never called me back. After 4 months the unit is out of warranty and they tell me that Pioneer won't cover the warranty. I feel that they waited for it to go out of warranty so they wouldn't have to deal with it or they sold a repaired or damaged unit that did not have a warranty. If they had told me from the start that they were not going to take care of the warranty I would have called Pioneer and plead my case. After all of this I purchased the identical stereo about $300 new and installed it myself and I have had zero issues since. Also, during the installation one of the tail light lenses had to be removed to connect wiring for the back up camera. While reinstalling the lenses they put it on upside down and cracked it. I fixed it myself but wanted to mention it here so that folks will know their eye for details. I did this review 2 years later because my last one was answered with false information and Google would not let clarify what happened. They were not sorry and have never issued a formal apology for their lack of effort and poor business practices. Beware and read the other reviews and make an educated decision on where you go for your...
Read moreOver the past two years I had collected a lot of new audio parts to install in my truck and I normally do these types of install myself because I am picky and I know most others will not do as good of a job as I would myself. Well I installed the head unit and two sets of speakers but just did not have the time to do the amp and subwoofers. Based of the positive reviews on google I hit up Winchester Auto Radio/Sound (the other large car audio shop has so many poor reviews not sure who would go there). All I can say is WOW... I do not think I will ever do a car audio project again myself, ever, these guys will be my go to source for it all. They got my truck in THE NEXT DAY from my initial call AND not only did they talk me out of spending money I did not need to (seriously, I was AMAZED at their upfront honesty) but they did a FABULOUS job on top it. I could not be happier... and I am kicking myself for waiting so long in having this done. The truck sounds GREAT (awesome settings put in by the staff there) and did I mention their honesty?!? So they initially quoted me time on the install and when I dropped the truck off I asked for some additional work done and figured it would be double the time for what I was asking. This is where they called me, told me I did not need to have that additional work done (the head unit I had could solve the problems I thought I was going to have) but they kept within the ORIGINAL timeframe after I had given them an open door for charging me double. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with this shop but do yourself a favor and stop by... it will be the best decision you make. THANK YOU Winchester Auto Radio/Sound... you have gained a...
Read moreHad my truck stereo system done a couple years ago and have loved it since.really woak my older truck up and made me feel like it wasn’t built in the 90s. The people are very knowledgeable and will help you get exactly what you want/need. Here recently I installed a subwoofer into my car and I kept hearing a noise that I thought may have been a blown speaker or I did not have it tuned right. I called about making an appointment to get it checked out and they advised me to stop by and they would take a look at it. When I arrived they never hesitated to come outside and check everything over. The younger man who came outside ran me through on how I should tune it and checked my box out. They gave me some advice and told me that it could potentially be a loose connection or a probem with my box and instead of charging me just to check over something that was simple they told me where to look and what to look for and told me if I had any problems checking it over to just give them a call. So I did exactly that and found my box was poorly put together and was separated everytime the beat would hit. Any other place would have just went ahead and made the appointment and I would have been 100 or so in just putting screws in the back of my box to fix the issue when I spent less than $5 on screws. This is the reason I will recommend them to anyone looking for advice or looking to get anything done with a stereo system. It is hard to find someone that does good work and will stand behind something and I will say they...
