Spectrum Store — Local services in Winona

zero stars if i could. moved kids into college apartment in Winona, MN on 31 MAY 21 and was told to stop into the store to pick up a modem and starter kit on 01 JUN 21 for a self install. went to the store in Winona, MN and saw a sign with no context saying the location is temporarily closed. not coincidentally, talked to two other customers in the parking lot and they said they were VERY disappointed in spectrum for various reasons...HORRIBLE first impression. and this is only where the wheels started falling off...many calls to customer service that sounded OK but eventually nobody could help. not yet a paying customer but may never be as I am looking at other options in the area.

Update - i spoke with three people in the customer care escalation group today (02 JUN 21) and I ultimately closed my account before starting service. nobody can give me a simple answer to my questions and they don't seem to care that their call centers, online support and other customer facing groups are a hot mess. Strangely, all folks I've spoke with seem interested to know why the Winona, MN store is closed but they can't tell me...

Honestly, if I could rate a zero star, I would have. This place is potentially and in my case definitely a scam. They will call you continuous, you know when you get those calls from random numbers trying to tell you you're the big lucky winner? yeah that is how spectrum works. I would consistently tell them to stop calling me and they would call probably 4 times a week. sometimes twice in a day from different numbers so you cannot block them. I would definitely look elsewhere, they charged us twice once, then said since it already went through that there is nothing they can do. Then again about 2 months ago, they charged us for cable. We never even had cable and I personally answered the phone and said we are fine with just WiFi. They again said it already went through so there is nothing they can do. They are a bunch of crooks and if you do sign up with them, (and I know for some god forsaken reason you will) you will see what I mean by they truly are the worst of the...

I really don’t know where to begin. Spectrum is the best option for wifi in winona… which is ridiculous as they are unbearable for many different reasons. My download speeds are 1/6 of what my plan provides. If this were the only issue I could be satisfied with my mediocre service. Unfortunately on multiple different occasions I have been charged for a product or service that I never received, or even asked for. With every customer service call, I am further away from a solution, or lied to and told that my problem is fixed. It took me two months to get money back for a service I never asked for. Once I got my money back, I was denied ONE free month of services for the many inconveniences and countless phone calls. This, to me, shows a HUGE lack of care for paying customers. All I can say is that if there was a better option, I would pick that. Spectrum thanks for your years of being difficult and...
