I’m having to post this review again? Mr.Zachary (correct legal spelling), whom I met while in the store when I found out about the candle vigil, was very rude to me and then hung up on me giving me no help when I had to call to see why there was no one to let me in as I was standing out in front of the store trying to attend the candle vigil for deceased loved ones that he and an employee had been advertising by word of mouth for Halloween. He did not try to reach out to whoever may have been heading up the vigil to allow me in if they even had the vigil at all. Mr.Zachary said nothing about a cancellation then hung up on me! I can’t think of a worse way to disrespect somebody than to hang up on them when they had planned on being a part of a candle vigil for remembering his deceased family and friends. I took everything I had ever bought their back asap and told the clerk how rude the Mr.Zachary was and that his shop was way overpriced to begin with. Unforgivable! I used to love this store, and would frequent it for a time. I loved the wares, I loved the owners passion for antiques and sourcing them properly. It’s so incredibly frustrating to see a small business that prides itself in craft using AI.

A few months ago I purchased a surprise bag here and unfortunately received a tarot deck that was completely ai made. How offensive to mix an exploitative means to produce art with my spiritual practice. I brushed it off and hoped that it was a mistake, but ultimately returned the deck.

Very disappointingly, their social media posts have begun to be AI generated, as well as their sister stores’.

I know small business owners must wear many hats, but you cannot be a connoisseur and dealer of the human experience through antiques and spiritualism and then choose AI out of laziness. You are killing the planet and stealing from real artists. AI is fed stolen art and it chews it and regurgitates it into something uncanny and sad.

I had the pleasure of stumbling upon Casashanti during my visit home on Trade Street, and it turned out to be a delightful discovery!
