I was hoping not to write this review, but they aren't giving me a choice. I been a member of this gym for a few years now, however, in 2020 I became a mother, and I wasn't able to attend as frequently. In the beginning, I was still able to find a few days a week to attend the gym while my husband babysits. Unfortunately, In July 2022 my home circumstances changed, and we (me and my husband) weren't able to attend the gym anymore. I reached out to the gym, and they told me to email them. I send an email to Peter Parsley and Jordal Nagel that I needed to freeze my account while we figure out the situation. I was told that to freeze the account we will have to pay $15 a month, which I accepted at that time. However, at the end of July I was charged for BOTH the membership and the $15 to freeze the account. I immediately send an email for a refund; it took forever for them to respond despite emails and phone calls. I even had my bank call them to get a refund. Their excuse was that "someone made a mistake on my account" and that they will try to refund my payment, or I can choose to use that payment for the future. I send an email on July 28th that I was requesting to cancel my membership and my husband's. I never received a response. 3 months later, I got busy with life and forgot about them. Then, I woke up one morning with a charge on my account for the membership $137. I immediately send an email that I cancelled my membership in July. Peter Parsley responded that for them to cancel my membership I have to pay another monthly payment (per my contract).
What really make me upset is their lack of transparency and communication. They don't tell you when you sign up that to cancel a membership you need to pay them the sum of one month payment (I am pretty sure this is written in your contract on very very very small letters) but they don't verbally tell you this.
I am pretty sure the owners will see this review. I am requesting AGAIN TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP (I have proof on an email from 07/28/2022 that I ask for this). I can't go to this gym because, unlike other gyms, you don't have a kidclub/daycare for parents to be able to exercise.
People be aware. Look at other reviews complaining about the same; lack of communication when it comes to cancelling...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām proud to be a Winter Garden resident. I have let myself go over the last few years because of work/home stressors. I decided to work harder on making myself a better person, inside and out. I have tried several gyms in the area. My friend and former health care colleague Alexis Linares had opened Hardcore Fitness Winter Park a couple years ago and I wanted to go check it out. Distance was an issue. When I learned the Hardcore Fitness Winter Garden location was opening, I wanted to see what is was all about. I reached out to Ross Carlson, who educated me on what was involved in being a member. Turns out, being a member is not just getting into my workout outfit and picking up a weight at my leisure. This is such a different gym in so many ways. You have access to not only the owners, including Nick Buzzetti, you have access to the awesome trainers. Education includes how to properly do the workouts, how to eat clean, and how to balance your lifestyle. The first thing you do when you go to a class is introduce yourself to your neighbor. Your neighbor soon becomes your friend and, in turn, you become a member of the HCFO FitFam. I cannot even describe the feeling I have when I talk about my FitFam. Everyone keeps you motivated and, if someone (whether a member, trainer or owner) sees you struggling, they jump in and support you to push through. āMom & Dadā have really cultivated an atmosphere of health, wellness and comradery. Every day I feel the need to do something to make me a happy and healthy me, whether itās making good choices at meal prepping or scheduling my exercise time. I tell myself I will be Fit and Fab at Fifty in 2019, but guess what, that goal is for a...
