Extremely Disrespectful Experience – Would Not Recommend for Culturally Rooted Projects
I had a deeply upsetting experience with Shuffled Ink while trying to produce a tarot deck centered on underrepresented cultures and spiritual traditions and after looking at their client base in the reviews, I see why!!!!
From the start, I asked clear questions to avoid confusion, but was met with vague answers and subtle condescension from my assigned project manager, Skylar. I had to request someone else due to how dismissive and uncomfortable the communication became.
Despite this, I moved forward and while Jay, the graphic designer, was wonderful to work with, things completely unraveled when I found out (only 4 days before launch) that their production time was 4 weeks, a detail never disclosed, even after I specifically asked upfront.
When I raised this with Skylar, I was blamed for not knowing. Her manager, Lisa, doubled down, offered no apology, and spoke to me in a condescending, biased manner. When I called it out and asked if I was being treated this way because I’m African American, she dismissed my entire project and told me “good luck.”
This experience left me feeling devalued, disrespected, and erased. If your work centers marginalized voices or cultural nuance, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Shuffled Ink does not treat all clients equally, and they failed me on every level and their not ashamed to show it! Therefore, I am not ashamed to let the world know it!
There is no Love🩷 & Light✨️ Here! Just marginalized antics!
RESPONSE FROM SHUFFLED INK 9/5/25

Business Owner
How dare you immaturely, vindictively and intentionally misrepresent your circumstances!!! Bottom line here...you placed an or order on 8/12/25. You approved your artwork on 9/4/25 and out of nowhere said you had to have your order in your hands by 9/7/25. On our quotes and emails to you our turn around times are listed, so, you received this information numerous times. On your order form you checked "NO"" to the question: Do you have a firm in-hand date? Not at anytime since you first contacted us did you mention one time that you needed your order by 9/7/25. You also pathetically attempt to say we are racists and we are not producing/rushing your older because you are black. What a weak and shallow "card" to play to deflect YOUR neglect. I find it offensive to African-Americans who legitimately and wrongfully are negatively targeted directly due to the ignorance(s) of racism. You should be ashamed of yourself. Our staff of 30 is Chinese, African-American, Gay, Binary, Phillipino, Jewish, White, Indian and more that are in between. And, when we can fulfill an order no matter what the turn around time is, if we can do it, we will. And we are the only company in this business that has never charged a rush fee. Why? Because we believe if we can do it why should we charge a client extra? I once had a client that was desperate for his order to be in Las Vegas on a Saturday morning. He had the cards in his hands Thursday morning before. I had the decks in his hands in Vegas that night! I never turn away an order for a client unless I physically cannot make it happen, I have hundreds and hundreds of Afro-American customers. Many Afro-American life-long friends (I am 65). I employ and have promoted numerous Afro-American employees over my 26 years. To accuse us of being racist concerning the truth of your circumstances is a malicious, egregious and libelous act that is knowingly undeserved. You are the one acting inappropriately, if not racist, in this situation. And to have the nerve to post it to the public is flat out despicable. Charles Levin Founder & President

Shuffled Ink owners are out of control. Save yourself the insults and headache. Without doing any research, I'm being accused of a 3 day window. Get real! It's always the customers fault? Totally...
Read moreShuffled Ink has been an excellent service for us!
My partner and I are artists (I’m a digital art generalist, and she’s a traditional artist), and we designed our first ever set of custom card decks to give as Christmas gifts to our friends and family. Our design featured watercolor and ink pen artwork that we scanned in and composited together in photoshop. The composited artwork was saved out in RGB color, which is what we sent to Shuffled Ink. The cards we received had color that was well-matched to what we had in our digital composites. Part of our deck’s design also included a custom “colophon” card that isn’t part of a standard 54-card deck, which they were able to accommodate. We ordered a small batch of 15 decks.
The staff was very easy to work with, and responded to my emails within the business day (or the next business day if my email was sent at odd hours). They provided us with a digital proof that we were able to use to catch a miscommunication regarding the extra card, which they corrected promptly. Due to needing a quick turnaround, we opted out of receiving a physical proof in the mail, but it was offered to us. The order arrived within the scheduled timeframe, and when we received the order, we found that they included a few extra decks, free of charge!
The card paper stock we ordered was the 300gsm premium linen, which has a good balance of flexibility and rigidity, and the linen texture is just what we were hoping for. They feel great to shuffle and play with, and are pretty comparable to the Theory11 cards that we have in our collection.
I would have ordered tuck boxes from Shuffled Ink, but the style of tuck box they offer on their website has a tuck flap on both the top and bottom, and I prefer tuck boxes with a sealed bottom. I ended up going to a local printer for a box print that I cut and folded myself, which was time consuming, but doing so gave me complete control over the exact shape and dimensions of the box. I’d be interested to know if Shuffled Ink would be able to accommodate a custom die cut, but that might be outside our budget (maybe something to explore for a future order).
After having designed our first custom deck for a small order, we’re definitely interested in designing more decks that we plan to offer for sale, and we’ll definitely be ordering from Shuffled Ink...
Read moreI have nothing but good things to say about my experience. To provide some context, I am a business owner and work in the gambling space and we were looking for some cool merch ideas to give to our clients. We have some of the generic stuff like hats, pens, koozie, etc. We really wanted that "wow" factor and wanted to have a specialty item and we decided on a deck or cards.
When I first started looking around on Google for companies that make custom card decks, I stumbled across Shuffled Ink. I decided to give them a call and just ask some general questions about the process and they were happy to help.
For the cards themselves, I wanted each "suit" to be either myself or one of my contractors since there are four of us in total. I actually had ChatGPT make the artwork for the cards so there are some minor imperfections, but that is because of ChatGPT, not Shuffled Ink. I thought the slight imperfections actually made the card deck cooler and more unique.
The reason I bring this up is because before they approved the decks (I ordered 1,000 of them), they took the time to call out every single imperfection they found in the artwork and asked me if I wanted to alter it. I decided to leave it as is, but it was nice to know that they kept an eye out for something like that when they didn't have to.
They also send physical proofs to you before you have to actually submit approval. The one thing I will say is that I wish the proofs they sent were already printed out and packaged in the official casing, as they only send the "print sheet", but that is something very minor.
I also had a little bit of a rush job and they were able to work on speeding up the shipping time for me as well.
While I have seen slightly higher quality cards at a casino before, these are going to be perfect for anyone unless you have a specific reason to have the highest quality cards you can find.
Overall, their customer support was helpful and responsive, the process was relatively easy to navigate as someone who has never done this kind of thing before, and the product itself did not disappoint. Would certainly recommend to anyone going forward. Loving my cards they are...
