Aeffect Hair is filled with personable professionals that have a real passion to make your hair look at is best. Iāve been going to Celina for quite some time now. Her passion and dedication to her craft is quite evident and very admirable. Nestled in a basement of an office building in Hannibal Square, this salon has a very chic industrial feel. The waiting area is filled with amenities such as phone chargers of all types, geeky literature to books of cute animal dressed as humans, free wifi and a fridge filled with complimentary local craft beer! Yes, thatās right - A FRIDGE FILLED WITH COMPLIMENTARY local craft BEER!!! Thatās so great. Of course if you donāt drink, one of the attendants will politely ask you if you would like anything to drink such as coffee, water, or juice - all from local purveyors and very proud of it! If you are an environmentalist or conservationist, youāll be very pleased to know how environmentally friendly this salon is. Products sold are environmentally conscious and the staff take subtle steps in recycling while keeping the place nice and clean. It just as a very cool, unpretentious vibe staffed with attentive people.
Finding a good stylist/barber that you can click with, as everyone can attest, is like finding precious metal in a beach. It is rare, difficult, time consuming and infuriating when you donāt have time or the patience. Iām very glad I found one that I feel confident about because I know how passionate, attentive and dedicated the owner is. I strongly disagree with Johnās review. Given its contemptuous tone when comparing a salon to a doctorās office, in addition, mentioning the other salons in town and on how to do business ā I scoffed. What he failed to mentioned is that salon's scheduling system sends message notifications to your preferred way of communication. So a day or two ahead of your appointment, you get a text message/email a reminder that you have an appointment. In that, it also states its fees. While I get he is frustrated - nobody likes to incur fees but itās clearly stated in the reminders so ĀÆ(ć)/ĀÆ. It is also a common business practice ā not sure what business he is familiar with.
Anyway, if you are looking for stylists that are attentive, professional and really are into their craft in a cool, chic space then I highly recommend Aeffect Hair. Hereās some pro-tips:
Pro-tip 1# ā street parking is available but there is another lot in the corner, New England and Douglas that has ample space about a block away.
Pro-tip 2# - Coming from East Orlando (UCF, Aloma Ave) on a Saturday morning from 7 to 1 is not the morning you should take New England Avenue to straight shoot to the salon ā no matter what Google Maps tell you.
Pro-tip 3# Please prepare for the sugary sweet face of Sterling, the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt hesitate. Just book your appointment! Iāve been getting my hair done professionally for 25+ years and this is by far the best salon experience Iāve ever had. My hair has been almost every color imaginable and varied from a pixie cut to reaching my butt over the years. Iāve searched for years and finally found my unicorn hairstylist ~ Liz at Aeffect hair. Iād been visiting another well known Orlando area salon and wasnāt happy with my look and my hair was extremely dry and damaged using their branded products. My sis gets her hair done by Celina and kept urging me to make an appointment at Aeffect and Iām glad I finally did. I set up a consult and talked with Liz about my hair goals and we made a plan. We set aside 4 hours for my return appointment. Sitting in her chair, I knew I was in an artists hands and she worked her magic. Iām a person that is looking for direction when it comes to my hair and she provides that. She found the curls I didnāt know existed and cut and colored to enhance my look. Iām elated to have a hairstyle that is easy to maintain on my own. Itās awesome to have products that work and smell amazing. I also appreciate the pricing at Aeffect Hair. They charge an hourly rate that is disclosed up front. There arenāt any surprise fees and no need to figure out a tip amount since itās an hourly rate. Iād love if more of the service industry followed this model taking the guesswork out of tipping in general. Bottom Line. If youāre looking for an inclusive, eco friendly salon with amazing artists then book your appointment at...

This salon isn't like others I've seen. It gives an edgy, industrial, minimalist, modern vibe. Straight from the get go walking down the stairs from street level you're like 'What's this, am I still in Florida?' Then even better it's super Eco-conscious and promotes recycling and has up-cycled decor.
The staff aren't uppity or pretentious but instead the opposite, warm, friendly and eager to beautify you all the while educating you on the local "what's uppery" that keeps this town unique.
But I must admit my all time favorite thing about this salon is the owner, Celina! I have been following her for years as its only from her hands that my locks stay gorgeous AND healthy! From someone with a bright bold hair color, I know I must show my hair extra TLC and I get that from Celina. She's also got me ADDICTED to all of the best Davines hair care products. Even if you don't care about the health, texture or sexiness of your hair... You'll want Davines because of all the smells it gives you. Just breathe it in. It's like sunsets and puppies and love...
