A Disheartening Experience at indopak heritage, New Jersey â An Unfortunate Reflection of Discrimination and Poor Customer Service
My friend and I recently visited with the hope of finding beautiful Indian outfits. As someone who is plus-sized, I am acutely aware of the limited options often available in many shops catering to Indian fashion. However, what we encountered here transcended mere inconvenience and veered into the realm of outright disrespect and discrimination.
From the outset, the staff displayed a dismissive attitude, with comments such as âthat wonât fit her,â which were not only unprofessional but deeply hurtful. Itâs one thing to acknowledge market limitations; itâs another entirely to openly mock or dismiss customers based on their size. Such behavior reveals a glaring lack of empathy and basic human decency.
The most egregious moment came when my friend fell in love with a beautiful two-piece outfitâtop and skirt. As we prepared to try it on, we were shocked to be told that only the top would be provided for fitting, with the staff claiming, âif that fits her, then we will give the skirt to try.â This utterly unacceptable practice not only delays the shopping experience but also reflects a shocking insensitivity to customer dignity. It is difficult to comprehend how a store could justify such discriminatory treatment.
This experience left us feeling humiliated, undervalued, and entirely unwelcome. It is a stark reminder that some businesses prioritize profit over respect and fail to recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all customers.
I sincerely hope this review serves as a wake-up call for then store. There are countless other stores that appreciate and serve every customer with dignity and kindness. I would steer clear of this establishment unless they wish to be subjected to such ignorance and rudeness. Or actually , better yet, its a great place for a Tik Tok to show...
Read moreI worked with Ms. Nayyab on finding the perfect bridal set. After spending weeks finding the right place and people with whom to get my jewelry, I knew I could not find any better than her. Over the course of a month, she worked with me to curate and hand pick pieces that worked with my specific dress and vibe (traditional yet modern, subtle and elegant). She has an eye for complementing your features, your dress, and your look to make it into a cohesive look. She even flew out a ring for me, selected by her, which of course, could not have worked any better. There is no better in NJ, trust me, I spent months looking. Thank you...
Read moreAjay isn't a great tailor. He said things would be ready by a certain date, and they weren't. When they were finally done, everything was wrong. I asked him to loosen the bust and he...tightened it. We told him we didn't want a low back...and he made a low back. I could go on. I don't understand how it's possible to measure someone, and be so off. It took 5 trips back and forth, and an additional month to get it right, but eventually we got there.
The things that were good about Ajay though - he's responsive to phone calls, his location in a storefront is nice, and he's a complete gentleman (not always the norm for Indian...
